Hi everyone

I thought I would post an update as I haven't posted in a while.

Full time is going pretty well. work has been really accepting and I'm finding that I'm starting to get into the routine of a normal week. So much easier to work now that I don't have to dress male. Feeling a lot better about my self. I'm living my life fully as Emma and its great

The main issue I'm having is that I feel 100% female most of the time except when I look at what's between my legs . It sends we instantly into depression. I wish I could have my realignment surgery tomorrow but ill have to wait 11 months. Up until now I have wanted surgery but its never felt so needed as it does now.

I went to a movies on the weekend and saw city of bones. (I love the books and was looking forward to the movie). After the movie I was in tears  the movie reminded me of what i don't have. I feel like my life can't begin until I have the surgery. All I want is a loving relationship and children. My own family. I don't want anything else in life.

Thanks for reading I guess I just have to learn to cope with my feeling until i can for fill my dreams

Those 11 months... Are they the prescribed time of living as a female before being allowed surgery? Because even here, where it's state funded and therefore probably not as easy as where you just pay for what you want, my psychiatrist told me there was hardly any problem with doing the surgery after a maybe 6 months if I wanted. Now, the timing is such that the only good moment is after school, next summer, but I think I could have my surgery this winter if not for that. Perhaps some negotiation is possible.

Apart from that, tuck 24/7 and try not to look down too much when showering. Things like that. Or you can distract yourself, so you're less prone to think about your dysphoria. For example by listening to music and singing in the shower. As a bonus it practices your voice.

Think of it this way. This is your time to learn and explore who you are.

Also assuming you get SRS you will be one of a very small number of people that actually do. Something to think about.

Yes i thought you had to do 12 months full time prior to surgury. Thank you so much for the advice i make sure i speak to my therpist about an earlier time.
