Couldn't post yesterday because the site wouldn't load on my end, so yeah this is for yesterday I finally booked a consultation with the laser clinic, so hopefully soon I can stop worrying about the scruff on my face.

There was a problem with the site server's internet service provider.

Just got a call out of the blue from the top surgeon. I've been scheduled for surgery in October.

Ah well, it looks like I'll have to get yet another ticker then! ;D

After that I went for a late meal in a restaurant nearby. I was alone but it is worth mentioning that the Marais quarter is also the Gay quarter of Paris. Anyway, shortly after I sat down at my table, a lesbian couple arrived at the table just next to me. One of them was very Goth style including leather collar, piercing etc. but the other was far more "femme". At first we just acknowledged each other's presence but since I couldn't help hearing their conversation, I got myself involved and we had a great little chat, including educating these ladies about what a transition entailed. Towards the end of the meal, they proposed I go along with them to a lesbian club nearby, an invitation I happily accepted and had a lot of fun in a decidedly hot, but still fun atmosphere. No back rooms like there are in all male clubs... ;)
So that was my first but certainly not my last night out in a lesbian club.I really enjoyed it and it was interesting to discover how open they were to my presence.

One of the former mods here who lived just south of me and has since passed away was widely accepted by the lesbian community and hung out with them quite often. I have had a lot of fun with lesbian women as well, they are quite accepting until you meet the group's control freak and get the stink-eye from her. Those types can't get past the idea that at one time we were (ugh) men.  ;D

played several good solos in a row in different styles, like:

1.Very fast picking, some would call it shredding, but i can't really shred, i'm not that fast, rather heavy tone

2.almost acoustic sound, slightly overdriven, rockabilly-ish solo.

That made me happy as hell.

Achy fingers, don't care....

(Tendency to play pentatonic-esque solos gets funnier and funnier and i have my own simple set of licks now)

Sorry if this is off-topic, but it's what made me happy today.

Sorry Auntie Shan - I can't quite hear you. I've got an annoying Scotsman yelling in my ear about dilithium crystals cracking or something... ;D

Realising that I'm really fortunate in having all the support and the advantages I do! ^_^ Things could be a lot worse!

Good thoughts, if we could all focus more on the positive and less on our negatives, we'd all have a lot less depression in our lives!

The info FTMDiaries posted on one of the threads about NHS protocol and trans people.  I never knew so much happiness and excitement could be found in a 28 page .pdf!  Argh god, is it really weird that I can't wait to go and get a new GP (even though I wish I could stay here to keep my old one because he was awesome) so I can ask for referrals and things?!  I know it's still going to take months of waiting, but... yeah... I'm excited.

Anyway, I must sleep, I've got to be up in 4 1/2 hours.  But I don't care.  I'm happy.

I made a post on my Goodreads blog about the book Golden Boy and the author commented on it, thanked me for reading her book and blogging about it.

Siege

I got my name legally changed today, and the judge is also putting in an order to have my gender marker changed on my birth certificate. I'll have to file a variance or something to get my name changed on my BC, but, hey, today's enough of a victory on its own. C:

Congrats, Siege.
That's pretty cool, Constance.

There's a scene in Drrr!! where my favourite character isn't wearing his coat and his hips look to be about the same width as his shoulders. This makes me feel better about mine since my hips are also the same width as my shoulders.
A manga I like called Blood Lad has been made into an anime. I watched the first seven episodes and I like it.
The usual: I really like being me.

Glad I could give you some good news! :)

The new protocol has only been in place since 1 August, but we're already seeing reports of trans* patients getting better treatment because of it. Yay!

OMFG they brought a classic Finnish candy called Hopeatoffee (literally "silver toffee") back!

One of the candy sorts that basically every Finn loves. Is it a surprise, it's pretty much salmiakki/liqourice flavored toffee? AND IT'S BLACK.
Heck, my Mom used to eat these as a kid!

That makes me even happier then, I've not been missing out because I'm useless at finding documents.

I went down to where I'll be going my apprenticeship today, and guess what, one of the instructors I'll have the most is a trans woman (she told us she'd transitioned five years ago).  I'll probably still try and keep things under wraps because of living in female accommodation, but I'll know the reactions of my peers when we have lessons from her, and it makes me feel a lot more confident about the whole thing.  I'm no longer going to be the only person who understands this for miles and miles, even if they never find out.

And if anyone's ever watched the Ashens youtube videos (reviews of really bad and cheap things) then you'll know why I was so excited to find out that my accommodation building is on "Excellent Road".

the tiniest comment can make someone happy you know, one of my friends told me today a comment she had made about me few weeks ago (fyi: nobody knows im trans yet) we were sitting at the opposite ends of one row in a class, and the boys row started after me. i usually have a handkerchief in my hand most of the time because i am so allergic to all kinds of airborne particles and thus i get sneezing fits so often. but sadly i dont have the privilege of using mens handkerchiefs, so that day i had a red girls hankie in my hand. my friend said she leand forward for something and caught a glimpse of me holding the handkerchief, and thought i was a boy holding a girls hankie. she had shown it to the girl beside her and they had had a good laugh. then they had looked again to recheck, only to find that it was me! we laughed our heads off when she retold the story, i wish she knew how happy she had made me

I had to go to the Division of Taxation today for work, and realized after I parked that I only had two quarters, rats! That only gives you 12 minutes at the meter, and the meter only takes quarters (I had a few bucks in nickles and dimes on me). Knowing I'd be in there for 30 minutes to an hour, I knew I'd get a $25 fine.

Standing there pondering if I should go to the bank and get some quarters, I see the parking officer walking down the sidewalk. So I asked him if he had some extra quarters that I could trade him for. He asked how long I'd be, and I said about an hour. He grabbed a "VIOLATION" envelope from his utility belt, stuck it on my windshield, and said "don't worry about it, and this will keep the next one from ticketing you."

That made me happy.  :)
