I have noticed that mods are only noticed when someone feels they have done wrong or rarely when ones does something over the moon. Truth is, without them, this site would suffer a great deal.

I want all you Mods to realize that even though you aren't often told thanks for doing a sometimes thankless job, that you are much appreciated.

I don't want this to become a favorite mod site, but if anyone has some stories of when a mod was beneficial to you, feel free to share.

To all of you Mods:

hug

Many mods mean many ideas of how to support someone, how to advance, and many experiences to help guide others.

I appreciate the mods for keeping the site safe and a degree of structure.  It is definitely a thankless job and it is not like anyone is getting paid to do it.  In fact, if I look at the donation list, the mods are some of the biggest contributers. So a very big thanks to all of you who do this to help us along on our journey.  Susan's had been as much a part of my transition as my therapist, and  friends and family...I kind of look it at it as the third leg of support.

Thank you!

Thank you, mods.

There! It's no longer a thankless job! ;)

There have been three moderators on the site who have played specials roles in my life these past couple of years:

Devlyn, who befriended me
Cindy, who branded me
Sephirah, who hugged me

Special people, all of them

Cindy branded you? I hope it didn't hurt too badly. I heard she has a whip to keep you in line.

Both.  And she wear spurs on her boots.  :o

Couldn't agree more. Places like this can only exist thanks to the dedication of the Mods and here in particular, they do quite an extraordinary job in terms of support, presence and maintaining a very constructive atmosphere.  :police:   :) Hip, hip...!

I agree.  The mods and the rest of the support staff are great.  They do a wonderful job keeping the site functional and they are very friendly people.  I've seen people get on the bad side of the mods or complain about things, but they are forgetting there are rules to enforce and they have a job to do.  Without some order you will have chaos.  And in the event that you feel a decision is wrong or questionable, I find they are very receptive to feedback.  So, I only have positive things to say about the mods and the support staff.  They're like the big brothers and sisters of our virtual family. :)

It's awesome you made this thread :) I also seriously appreciate the mods. Devlyn, thanks for being such agogood moderator. You're stern but loving and I like that ;) lol. And Jamie, you're just cool. You definitely do your job while, while still bein awesome. Thanks to all the others as well for putting up with the mod haters. You guys rock.
Once you've lost everything, you're free to do anything.

Aye, Jamie and Devlyn both have this wonderful sense of Humor. They are 2 of many who have improved my mood just with some of their silly posts. Virginia and Cindy have also done much for my sanity with there sense of humor as well as being serious when needed.

Meh, screw the mods...

Just kidding. Please don't ban me.   ;D :P

The whole team I work with here, moderators, admins, and all the other Staff. And Susan.

I have especially warm feelings for K8. She interacted with me when I first got here and told me that I had something to contribute to the site. The words stayed with me, and remind me how important it is to give back.

Cindy

Oh dear I will get tears if I talk about special times.
Janet who first greeted me, and still hugs me. My sister, Virginia who joined at the same time and we have transitioned together.

Jamie and Devlyn who keep my hairdresser fully employed in covering grey hair.

Seph for being.

And of course the Boss and FA who have held me when life is too much.

Not to mention my brothers and sisters in arms.

But thank Kat you old furball

Though my own tenure as a mod was short-lived, I'm well aware of the time and effort that the mods and admins put into running this site.

The work that the staff does makes Susans the best forum/message board experience I've ever had. In almost every other site I'd tried in the past, sites devoted to various topics, the mods were usually the personal friends of the administrator and the rules were very selectively applied. That doesn't happen here. The staff take the rules seriously and apply them effectively.

I thank you, those who continue to do a job that I found too daunting to continue.

Everything is good in moderation. :D

Susans: Where Moderators moderate moderately moderately.

I look up to all of the mods here, which is as it should be. It's a community leadership role--not police work.

the mods here do a really good job. none of them are particularly trigger happy or authoritarian in the way they try to keep some order in here. i appreciate the way our mods do their best to keep things moderate, i feel rather safe here, especially knowing that i can withdraw to my own little part of the forums when the other ones become a little too... binary? for me. and they'll do their best to keep that little safe haven safe.

the other thing is how welcoming and active and supportive they all are. many mods in other places do nothing but mod, but our mods give so much of themselves it's almost overwhelming if i think about it. i'm sure hearing their stories has helped many more than just me.

I was just thinking back to who was here when I first joined. I seem to remember Janet and her struggles to get an orchie...I didn't even know what that was back then. I don't see her as much now that she is busy with job hunting but she did help back then.

K8, too.  Funny how much all mods do and we don't really even see a lot of it.

I love my Mod Brothers and sisters, as I love all my brothers and sisters.

As we all should. that doesn't mean we can't not like them at times or that we aren't different people who will disagree with each other.

I'm sorry we haven't talked for a bit. You were one of the first I saw with your welcoming list of rules.
