My wife noticed my fully shaven legs today.
I was wearing my dressing gown and ugg boots with nothing else on underneath thinking that she wouldn't notice but she was talking to me and suddenly noticed my bare legs and said "omg, have you shaved your legs" I said yep and she replied "like fully shaven like mine?" I said yep. She said why to which I replied because I like it! She walked off saying that's weird.
I thought, if only you knew the half of what I do!!
Then I thought its only natural for her to think that way and I can't blame her for thinking that I am weird.
I guess it's only a matter of time before she catches me wearing female underwear or clothes. As time goes by I am getting more and more confident and starting to wear sexy undies underneath my jeans etc.

Anyone else had this sort of thing happen.

My ex was...exasperated when she saw I'd shaved my arms, "because people can see that!" (She was ok with my legs and chest, though) I told her no one would notice (and they didn't --mainly because I started wearing nail polish about the same time LOL).

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

I have removed nearly all of my leg hairs by Tria laser, and I do not shave this year.
My wife does not care.
Some men here do shave their legs (for example, for biking).

How long did that take, barbie? I'm thinking about giving my legs a go with the tria.

The thing is I have done it in the past and she didn't care
I don't even think he really cares now, it was even weird tht she noticed as she is usually oblivious to most things I do to myself.

I was thinking about permanent hair removal. What sort of hair do you have barbie? As I would be interests to know how good it works because I have thick dark hair so not sure the tria work and its a pretty big investment.

I've been caught shaving, but no one thinks anything of it.  My family knows I hate my body hair and want it gone permanently.  I've even suggested getting laser on my body so it can be gone forever.  I even had my mom buy nair, veet and sally hanson products when I was a teen.  Yet, no one in my family knows (at least to my knowledge) that I'm trans.  Body hair removal isn't too uncommon among men.

I've always wanted to try that, but I've heard they don't really work well.  I'm hoping hrt will take care of the body hair along with waxing and or shaving.  We'll see.

From what I understand, it takes a lot of discipline to get results. So, in some regards, you could say that the operators don't usually work well :D

I have had 2 laser sessions on my legs while getting my face worked on and what a difference, almost no hair now which is fantastic.
Much easier than home laser. Still a bit painful though.

I have been shaving my legs for many years and just don't care what anyone else thinks about my choice.
As I ride a bike it's a reasonable thing to do.

I hear you Jenny, its all about what ever we want to do with our bodies.
its def becoming more and more trendy for younger guys to shave legs.  I think its really hot! it shows off the full shape and looks great especially on tanned skin.
I have the same looking legs as my sister when they are shaved.

As I have been busy, I infrequently used it and took 1-2 years to remove most of leg hairs. Now the battery runs out. I may purchase a new one to remove a few thin hairs left, but I am not sure.

I have black hair.  Tria works best for black hair.

... Freshly shaved legs and a soft fabric... Such a winning combination :)

I just epilated my entire body this morning. My arms & legs are smooth as silk, and they will stay that way for a while!

I too went through the getting caught shaving my legs and wearing panties phase, then after that was ok. Then I was caught doing my arms and again gasp you did what LOL and progressed on to getting laser on my Face, Bikini, Peri and Legs LOL and now full HRT. We are still happily married and she is fully supportive now.

I am getting scheduled for my FFS shortly - so baby steps can lead to good things with patients :)
MTF progressing towards her final stages of transition. Next up is my facial and body surgery; then my final transition to being a total woman! Been a long & hard fought journey but in the end, it has definately been worth the wait  ;D[/left]

When people think it's weird for men to be shaved everywhere I think it's hilarious. They don't object to bicyclers shaving their legs, or swimmers shaving their body hair, or men who work out, or men who are metro, or men who just like doing it as long as they're 'masculine' men. Keep making people stop and think. Sooner or later everyone will say 'Oh yea, that's whatever. I don't care.' If your woman thinks it's weird then she needs to grow a thicker skin and stop being embarrassed over trivial things. Only immature people react that way and I have no problem pointing that out when someone over reacts or wants to criticize me about my choices.

It is a bit strange that men can't shave their bodies IF they don't do certain activities. My roommates are still somehow unaware of what I am, so by the time I got rid of all my body hair, I was actually pretty surprised to hear nothing from them. Even one who is a total 'bro', has not commented in the slightest. I think people being so conscious of what they're doing, is what makes people pay attention... It makes sense! If you act nervous, people are going to sniff that out of you, and then go about trying to figure out why you're nervous, and then they may notice you suddenly have no arm hair or WHATEVER is the difference they weren't paying attention to!

I wrapped my arms around the back of the car seat, with my roommate behind me, and he didn't seem to notice, with my arms RIGHT there. They are not typically ones to remain quiet either. So I think people need to realize, a lot of people are really unobservant! I suppose the only thing is, if you have a LOT of hair, like gorilla hair, and suddenly it's missing, it's pretty apparent.

Those who crossdress, shifty eyes and nervous twitches, or nervous weight shifting, may just be the very thing giving you away, or making people look and figure out what's different. Act like nothing is different, and people's perception of you will not be different - unless you happen to come across a very observant person, or the difference is very major, like hair dye, wig, bras, nail polish, or going from really hairy to not hairy at all.

This is so true. When I started going out looking more androgyne, I was really nervous about about peoples reactions and comments. But to my surprise I hardly received any comments at all. I almost felt disappointed lol

About the shaving, well a few people ask sometimes but it's never a big deal. The usual question is like "oh do you shave your legs?", a pretty stupid question, as they can see it obviously ;)
Sometimes when I get asked why I'm shaving, I reply "cause I'm a girl", pretending it to be meant ironic, even though it's not that ironic after all :D

I think it has become pretty accepted that guys shave their bodies too. After a few years of doing it now, I very rarely feel like I have to hide it. It's also a matter of getting used to it and feel really comfortable about your self. These days I can't even imagine myself being hairy anymore.

How do you change your avatar ? I can't see where I can upload

On your tool bar, find where it says "Profile."  Put your cursor on that, then click on "Forum Profile" from the drop down menu.

You can upload an avatar, or choose one from the avatar library.
