Yeah you need to go to a thrift store and buy a size bigger. Buy canvas if you can. I know a store that sells used shoes for like 6 bucks.

I bought these size 7.5 ballet flats and lovelovelove them and they're so cute but I need a size 8 or more likely 8.5 or 9. They fit, but they cut into my feet like something fierce. I wore them and went walking for eight hours. i bought a pair of these cute slip ons and I cant even wear them because even though they fit they are still too tight and grind the scab. I have a pair of size 10 flats but they are too big. It's so hard to find a decent pair of shoes and even when they fit in the store, with some shoes they still dig in if there is not enough room and they are made of a rough or leather shell.

I wear size 13 in womens, Ive looked in the thrift stores around here and have found nothing. I cant even find them in size 11.5 mens.   And I literally have no money, im so down in the red im drowning,  Im about to lose my auto insurance I owe 460 on that.  I need to come up with 190 dollars in the next 4 weeks to publish my legal ad in the news paper  or my name change is going to be rendered invalid.  Im so ->-bleeped-<-ed.  I just barely managed to come up with rent and make my car payment.  I seriously dont know what to do, I've never been this ->-bleeped-<-ed before and I cant calm down long enough to logically think my way out of it.

I seriously ate a cat turd on a dare for 10 dollars just so I could buy my estrogen the other day, thats how bad my money situation is. My roomie will even back that story up. she couldn't believe I did that just to make sure I had my estrogen.

I'm sorry, but I don't really see any way around it. When you can't even scrape up 20-40 dollars for cheap shoes, there's a huge problem somewhere, and there's hardly anything to be done but do it and find out where your money is going. You can always check out eBay and stuff, but I hardly see you getting anything much cheaper than that.

Having a car when you're poor, for example, is something I have trouble not questioning. I'm poor yet relatively comfortable (as in, my living expenses are never endangered even though I don't have much left after then), and I figure I'm less poor than you with my monthly budget of 900 dollars. Yet I would never, ever, in a hundred years, even consider owning a car because of the tremendous money pit it represents. Even if I wasn't a public danger when driving a car.

Do you have both a mobile phone and a home phone? Do you have a mobile Internet connection? Do you have a TV subscription? Are you using needlessly fast Internet? Do you eat out? Do you spend on any entertainment at all? Do you smoke or drink? Do you eat meat? Those are all expensive things that you don't need. You may think you do, but you certainly don't.

This all comes down to basic budget management. If you can't have a budget that stays in the positive numbers after all unavoidable expenses so you can afford stuff like shoes, and ideally before they start hurting your feet, there's absolutely no way around it. You must find a way to fix your budget. I don't know the details of your situation, but there has to be a way to fix the numbers. And if there is none, make finding one your priority, and heck, ask your roommate/parents/whoever to give or lend you a bit of money because your feet are bleeding. When you need help, pride is stupidity IMO.

I make 9 dollars an hour but im lucky to work 24+ hours a week.  Normally I only get 24 max.  I've been looking for work and I mean any work, and in my neck of the woods, it seems to be non existant. I live in a semi rural city,  so you have to own a car. We dont have standard public transit like the city does.  I also just got done having a sever back injury that put me out of work for 3 weeks.  In indiana, workers comp only kicks in after the 2nd missed week of work, so I only got paid for one of those weeks.
Originally I had 100 dollars to my name at the end of the month.  after putting my insurence, rent, gas, 30$ phone card, $20 dollars for food, and utilities a month.  But my old car was paid off.  and it died so I had to get this one and it was the cheapest one I could find near me so  now not only am I stuck playing catch up from being injured, I got a car payment.        And you cant survive in my area without being highly mobile.  its to spread out.         I dont eat out, I dont drink, I dont smoke,  its just a very bad string of luck that keeps stacking.    I couldnt even sell my old car for scrap because the city conficated it to do a damage report on it because the thunderstorm we had last week made a tree fall on it.

I dont even own a tv anymore. I dont go out to do anything for entertainment unless its free like go to the beach,  only reason I have internet is because Its how i get my work schedual log my hours, and milage, and get new client information.

my budget is as thin as it can get.  I live on nothing but ramen and the occasion soybeans and lettuce I buy to keep my fiber up.   Aside from my roomate, I dont have friends, my family just loaned me the money to replace my car, they wont loan me anymore untill I finish paying them back the 1200 they gave me. Im sorry I asked if anyone knew of any charities. I didnt ask to be made out to be a dullard,  You also dont know other situations either.  Im almost legally blind, have no glasses, cant get on disability or partial social security because of it, One of my hands barely works because of a bad auto wreck where the person didnt have insurance, and I couldnt afford a surgury that was considered elective to make sure my wrist wouldnt partial fuse solid.   So its not just the economy or bad choices that are making my life so miserable.    Being almost blind having only one hand that really works, and in such a troubled area of indiana that I live in,  I cant beleive i've even made it this far. but this new string of events thats happened, cut that little thread I was hanging onto.                       But whoever is in charge of this site can lock this thread, cause now im pissed I  even asked for help looking for a way to get shoes.  Cause I didnt want to have to spell out how ->-bleeped-<-ed my life was again, just for help looking for shoes.

The heck is that? Africa? I can't believe how ->-bleeped-<-ed-up it can get in the US sometimes. I didn't expect anyone to have that much bad luck in a bad environment. A salary not even equivalent to the legal minimum salary here and few hours, having to pay for an essential surgery, not even having glasses...

I feel really sorry for all that, and for how unhelpful your family is. Heck, my mother is having money problems and is indebted, and I'm nowhere as deep in trouble as you are, yet she's gonna help me for clothes, and bought me 500-dollar glasses this summer. Yet they lent you that money and refuse to add a minimal amount so your feet stop bleeding. Sigh.

I just thought of something. I think I remember seeing something about a homeless people's one-night shelter, that gave every visitor clean clothes and, if needed, new shoes, when they came for the night. You may not be homeless, but maybe you have that sort of place nearby that could help you because you're in deep crap?

Also, do you have a community organism that could help you? That kind of place that helps people make a budget and direct them to resources they might not know for financial aid, cheaper services, etc.

...Oh yeah, it might not be much, but here there are mobile phone plans starting at 25 $ a month; 35 for unlimited local calls, and 18.50 $ a month for a land line phone with (obviously) unlimited local calls. Maybe you can save a tiny amount of money if you have something similar available in your area, compared to your phone cards. Not that it's gonna pull you out of this pit. >.>

Teela sweetheart no one should go without shoes, I'll send you a PM and i'll see if I can help you.
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

my area has programs for low income glasses,  but you gotta be a student and it usually by student means K-12, not college.

another reason im freaking about shoes is because its september now, winter isnt to far away and we get snow here.  I cant wear flip flops in the winter, and my job is in the medical field. you cant wear flip flops on the job,  today I had to wrap my feet in gause and put on two pairs of socks just so my shoes wouldnt destroy me feet more then they are already.

If there's nothing you can -go- to, maybe there is a help phone line? Even something like "tell our volunteers about your problems and they'll listen", which doesn't appear to have a link with your issues. I'm sure those people must have some information about resources in some way, no?

Teela asked me to lock the thread as she felt she was getting unhelpful comments or at least comments that were getting her to feel even worse than her situation is making her.

I find that sad.

I shall keep it open a while longer.

If you can't help please don't place messages that are going to make her feel worse than the terrible situation she has found herself in.

If you have a problem with this talk to me.

I got these in mid July and they have never been worn.  Size 13 womens from Payless Shoes.  They're yours if you want 'em - just a gift, nothing else.  So if they aren't too ugly PM me and I'll USPS flat rate mail them today or tomorrow.  It'd take a couple days to get them.

Joules, I have no idea what 2XL in clog size means lol.   I wear size 13 in U.S womens.    I do home health care for the mental and physically disabled, bathing, cooking, cleaning, passing medications, running errands transporting them to doctor visits.    It involves alot movement.  Those clogs sound really cute tho. they sound like they would be to big tho.

I'll have to check out the lions club tho. and if not. ill have to see if I can get an appointment with the low income optrometrist to find out what my eyes are at. and do that Zenni site unless they got a box of random eye glasses I can try on till something works at the lions club.
