Hey everyone. I'm Allison, I live in central Alabama and I am 25 years old. For as long as I could remember I haven't felt comfortable a guy but it was something I was so afraid to reveal how I felt until about 6 months ago when I decided to tell my mother. Her reaction was better than expected... it was pure indifference but I was happy with that. Coming from a testosterone driven, God fearing, blue collar family I totally dread telling anyone else.

These days I am more androgynous in public and at my job. I work in a retirement community nearby and I love it! The elderly are always really sweet to me, which I wasn't expecting! It gives me plenty of chances to practice my voice during the day which has come a long way and that is another plus to me!

I am at the very start of my transition. I just.scheduled my first therapy for later this week and I am very excited/nervous about it!

I'm not too sure what else to say, sorry for rambling!

Hi Allison, Welcome to Susan's. Good luck at your therapy session.

Hi Allison,
Welcome! I'm new to the forums here too.

It's great you can practice your voice at work!  I  know very well what a pain it can be to find a safe place to practice.  I usually end up practicing while driving around. hehe

You're at the same place I am (except you're starting much younger). My first therapy appt. is this week too and excited/nervous sounds familiar. :)

Congratulations and good luck!

Hey there you guys! Thank you for the warm welcome!

Yes, I am very lucky to be in an environment where I can speak in my feminine voice. I also practice a lot in my car lol. I'm very happy with how it is coming along. Good luck practicing your voice and I hope your therapy goes well!!

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Hello there!  I'm really glad to be a part of this family, I will try my best to contribute as much as possible and ask when I have questions (and I have many!). This is all still really new to me, I don't get much of a chance to discuss it in the offline world so I will have to get used to it a bit lol.
