Hey guys rare to see a topic by me.

I was approved for surgery back at the start of July, It's been 9 weeks I rung them countless times and got through the grand total of twice, to be lead around in circles both times.

I've always operated under the opinion that the NHS live in the grey area between inept/malicious but ultimately will not help me. And ironically my experience backs up my opinion 99% Hence why I DIY'ed most of my transition. (I have some horror stories I can tell you about my encounters with CHX and the NHS)

Now I've actually saved a significant amount of money up in the many years I've been transitioning, (12k) And while my money has been devalued by government maliciousness I suspect I have enough to pay for my own surgery privately, but I'm having a hard time finding resources on private surgeons who operate in the UK and don't require me to have private insurance prior.

Dose anyone have any details or contact information? to groups who provide this kind of surgery? Or Alternatively UK Residents who took this path?

You do know me although you may not recall - lets just say I used to be a mod on here and I took under my wing a skater girl from southampton whom you will recall, who is now living happily in cornwall, whilst I am living it up in the big smoke at medical school learning to be a good doctor. (but please no mentioning of my name in this thread as I do have to maintain a measure of anonymity and detachment now due to my future career).

I would suggest you go see my friend Mr James Bellringer. who can be contacted here http://www.bellringers.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

You certainly do have enough money to see him. He should get back to you within a few days, but he does sometimes go away for a few weeks at around this time of year so don't worry if you don't get an instant reply. I have got his telephone number if you really cant get any communication going, but I'd rather not give it out in the first instance.

Like any surgeon, he has his fans like the girl I adopted (no names no pack drill here) -  who got a VERY good result, and he has people who will tell you all sorts of horror stories. I would treat those with a pinch of salt if I were you. He is a good surgeon. I have seen him at work, and he is very skilled and conscientious.

The other option of course would be Mr Phil Thomas at Brighton, I believe he is also very good, but I have less knowledge of him.

I was going to have SRS privately under Mr Phil Thomas. I was certain that I wanted to stay in the UK, in case of complications and for the convenience of recovery. But further research steered me away from UK surgeons. For £12k you have the opportunity of going to any of the most experienced SRS surgeons in the world. And that 12k mark certainly became a dilemma for me.
