Went to my regular GP Dr. G on a follow up to my annual physical, this year I have always gone female and it is the first time she addressed me as Jamie, her receptionist always calls me Jamie after I told her the name I use enfemme, she just started doing this on her own, I never asked or prompted her to do so. Later I had to go to a lab for x-rays.  This is a new lab & a second visit for me. My health card of course has my real male name & such in the system, on my application form I indicated when dressed girl to call me Jamie, which they did. The technician I had today is Asian and pronounced my name Jam i (sounding like Jam eye) lol. A real coincidence is I heard Jamie quickly followed by a last name that wasn't mine, but when you hear your first name you instinct makes you start to physically respond. I started to make a movement to get up then stopped when I realized it was for another lady by the same name.

Funny & Happy happenings.

That sounds like a great day Jam Eye. ;D ;) I am glad that you have such understanding medical professionals - I have a wonderful clinic myself, and it makes so much difference, I leave feeling like I have really been taken care of and like I can trust them.

So, I had my job interview today. And I filled out lots of paperwork. And took a drug test. And if all things go well with my I-9, I hope to be working in Quality doing inspections of brand spanking new Toyota fork lift trucks. Since my driver's license did not match my social security card, I explained my circumstances. She called in her co-worker and after talking about it some more and asking me questions, She told her co-worker, "No one need's to know about her past. It's no one else's business."
I was both happy and really surprised. So, for the first time, I will be stealth in the workplace.

As for the license issue, I'm about ready to see a lawyer because they are fraking with my life and my documentation IS very much legal and according to the Change of Name and Adoption Unit, In Scotland people are able to make the change of name on their birth record and in England they change their name by Deed Poll. You do not need to complete both processes.

Singing along in the car to a song where I've always struggled to hit the low notes... and then realising that I was singing too low for the song. Then I got into work and realised that my speaking voice is lower than my cismale boss's voice.

My voice is obviously very unreliable at the moment - I've only been on T for about 3 weeks - but the results so far are very encouraging. ;D

Wheee, what fun!!  I remember my first pass through puberty and hitting some low notes for the first time.  Too bad it's a one way deal, i.e., once you go low, high becomes out of the question.  I've lost some of my baritone, the rest I think I can just blame on old age.  Old people sound and look about the same anyway.

TBH, I've always wanted a baritone but I thought it would never be possible for me. I'm counting on my Welsh genes to help me get there. I've promised myself that if I do achieve a baritone, I'm going to learn the words to Bread of Heaven and I'll pop over to Cardiff for a rugby match. ;)

Another thing that made me happy to day: there's a specialist school for disabled youngsters just up the road from where I work. Every morning when I drive past, I see them loading students onto a specially adapted bus so they can take them out on excursions.

Today as I drove past I saw a severely disabled teenage girl sitting in her wheelchair waiting to be loaded on the bus... and she was laughing her head off with obvious joy. She was clearly thrilled about whatever they're doing today.

I don't mind paying my ridiculous taxes if the money winds up putting a smile on her face.

@Caleb, Jam Eye, that was cute & funny, my wife laughed when I told her. Pleased that you have an understanding  medical clinic, like you say trust is vital. You feel so normal you sail in & out of the office with confidence. The x-ray technician, a lady complimented me on my softly colored floral patterned white summer dress. I later boldly went in to a big box hardware store & a computer store, not paying any attention to other people around me, I blended in & no awkward looks. You have to own the space as the person you are.

@ Keaira, Your interviewer got it right,
Quote"No one need's to know about her past. It's no one else's business."
Sounds like one of those best ever days & sincerely hope you land the job!

All my purchases for female clothing, shoes, lingerie Hosiery has been done while I am in drab, never have had any issues. Over the past 12 years I have been building up my confidence to go many places dressed female & constantly expanding my horizons. Today is the first time I have gone into a big department store enfemme to buy pantyhose. The escalators have mirrors on three sides, nice checking your form in motion from different angles. After paying for my purchase the sales lady said, "thank you hun." Every outing with a positive leaves you so exhilarated & up you feel so accepted. It has been over a year since I had to get some hose & the prices have gone up substantially, yikes!

@Caleb, always Great having a brain flash for an interesting lecture. Seems like it is going to be good per your "yah."

@Kearia, No stopping you girl, you must feel on top of the world, well done & CONGRATULATIONS on securing the Toyota job!

May the good things that make us HAPPY, roll on!

I got my doctor letter for applying for birth certificate amendment. Putting it off until next month or November because of the fees, but still I'm pretty sure it'll go through with no hitch once I submit the application. It's a good step forward. For me it's too easy to get complacent, and I don't want to lose momentum. After Texas Vital Statistics I want to move on to the Social Security Administration.

There will always be asterisks and such in my medical records, but that's fine. I feel more and more human the more I confirm publicly that I am what I always felt myself to be.

So, my first day at Toyota went well. no issues with passing or... well.. anything. It was only orientation but still. It was nice not to feel like everyone in the plant knows my past.
