Its been quite some time since I've been here. I had to do a bit of soul searching. I finally started seeing a gender therapist and things seem to be going well. It took quite some time to get an appointment because I had to switch therapists to one that would better coincide with my work schedule. I may have a contact with a doctor who is interested in possibly prescribing hormones and has interest in learning the process. How I believe it would work is initially, I would see someone who is already familiar with HRT then continue with the doctor closer to my home. I am getting laser hair removal for my neck, chest, and abdomen. That is slow, very expensive, and quite painful but will be worth it in the end. I am wearing bras all the time now under my regular clothes. My therapist calls it my "training bra" stage. I barely notice I'm wearing one anymore. I seem to be amassing a collection of bras as well. I also have grown out my hair to a point where I can style it a bit by combing it to one side then using a barrette to keep the hair out of my eyes. People notice it around but its not a big deal.

Overall, I am slowing trying to feminize myself for the eventuality of taking hormones someday; wearing bras, styling hair, perfume, ladies bootcut jeans, etc. Basically, seeing what I can get away with before people start asking real questions. I can see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel and my female self is on the other end. I feel a sense of excitement like its actually coming true. Its good to know I have a place here for advise, encouragement, and mentoring.

Welcome back Sabrina.  It sounds like your searching has been rewarding in many ways.  You are successfully managing a series of major life transitions.  Most of us benefit significantly from a good therapist and you have taken solid steps to find medical resources and ease into feminizing yourself.  Closets are for clothes, and all those bras ;) but how are you feeling about answering those "real questions"?  You are well on your way to making your dreams come "true" and I trust you are thinking it through.
I share your feeling of excitement about the profound changes we allow ourselves to experience.
Thanks for sharing your update with us.

Can you clarify "real questions"? It could be interpreted in many ways. I would like make sure that I am answering things properly.

I was referring to your statement about:

I respect that your answers are uniquely your own perspective and I hope you feel no pressure to respond at all or in a "proper way."  We have such interesting places to start from and fascinating places to go and it helps me to understand myself by trying to understand other life stories.

BTW, bras are one of my delights.  I have had them for decades and they can be entirely discreet and comforting if one is not "out."  I know plenty of cisgender women who roll their eyes at me and say, "Oh just wait till you have worn them for years, the thrill will go away."  LOL not yet!

I guess answers evolve as do the questions. Kinda playing it by ear. As far as bras are concerned, I haven't been wearing them for long enough to wear them out. I have about 30 or so. I've lost count...lol! I rotate them for something different and to not wear them out.

Well you own enough bras to wear a different one every day of the month, how fun.  And some people just get a million pairs of shoes;-)  Many years ago I got a very expensive set of silicone breast forms that offered me the illusion of being more real.  Those things were heavy and I could better empathize with ciswomen who have breast reduction surgery.

After I started developing on HRT I stopped buying bras as I am growing and have fun with my real, if little girls, and don't want to throw too much away.  Plus my closet is way overcrowded now.  It's a relief to think I will never have to wear a suit and tie again.....

I was thinking about breast forms but to get good ones they are expensive and it would be tough to get them home with out others finding out. I can't wait to start growing my own but that's at least a few months away if things go according to plan.
