i think i've posted before about how homophobic my society is and that i'm so afraid to come out. well, it just got reconfirmed.
i was listening to a very popular and renown radio channel in my country and the program was about homosexuals. it is very rare that such a topic is discussed in public, so i listened. i'm straight trans alright, but as that program clearly pissed me off.
they were telling that homosexuality must be erased from the society. the contacted priests of the major religions of my country and made them tell that it is a bad aspect of human society. they emphasized that since homosexual relationships can't increase the population it is not required. they tried to put it as a crime comparing it with rape and prostitution. the said that feelings were not an excuse, as rapists and prostitutes too follow their feelings.
they said i lot more, but i didn't listen anymore. i think we don't even have laws that would let me change the gender in my legal documents. yes, it is frustrating.

Sounds bad. I wish these "good" clergy people would consider how many unwanted babies could be adopted into solid families of stable, healthy transsexuals. That would definitely help with population growth. I know many transsexuals in committed relationships that would make excellent parent's. Of course, then the clergy would just say we were trying to spread our "degenerate" philosophies into the next generation. Sorry, too preachy.

You have my sympathies, I wish I could just put you on a plane and have you ditch that country and come here.
Well being TG is no treat, but becoming separated has sure caused me more trouble that being TG ever will be. So if I post, consider it me trying to distract myself from being lonely, not my needing to discuss being TG. I don't want to be separated a lot more than not wanting to be male looking.

thank you. it is a beautiful country and a wonderful place to live as long as you are willing to adhere to social norms and stereotypes. i will have to go to some other country if i'm to start medical transition, as i doubt having doctors who could diagnose me around here.

I understand, there are so many places so utterly beautiful, then you realize it is ruined by the humans there :)

So many places I know of, I would love to visit, if only I could go there, and there were no people to ruin the experience.
