What a neat idea - actually changing the sex of the characters themselves and reimagining them.

I know a lot of people who don't like it because when people are trying to cross play or are trans and dressing as a character of their gender people think they are genderbending and end up misgendering them.  My friend crossplays as Dante a lot but because she has a baby she can't bind her chest (she wouldn't anyway) so people always ask if she is a genderbent Dante.  She gets SO MAD.
