Hi everyone
I'm Jess and I have just started on long road to transition , I'm 49 years old and have been struggling with gender issues since time began.
I eventually got married when I was 29 after a 11 year bender on booze, I thought that doing both these would get the thoughts out my head that I wanted to be a women, big mistake the thoughts just kept coming stronger and stronger, eventually after 20 years marriage I was getting desperate and ended up see my doctor and everything came out it was the hardest thing I had done but also the best was like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
She made me appointment to see a psychiatrist who diagnosed that I had gender dysphoria
The next step was to tell my youngest sister and wife, how surprised I was with there reaction they have both been brilliant
At this time I'm having councilling with a physco sexual councillor who is also very good and I have been accepted into next years intake at Leeds GIC cannot wait
Thanks for reading
Love Jess xx

I was drunk every night for 11 years bordering on depression and alcoholism , I still have a drink but nothing half as bad so there is hope for me yet
Telling my doctor was the best thing I have ever done

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me
