I have medium length brown hair & rather thin. Sometimes I wear short wigs to look nicer. Lately I started enjoying real long curly full wigs. They make me feel great. I feel like a new woman with thick very long hair.

Just wondering if others like to play with wigs & long hair??

The first time I felt hair touching my back was like magic.  Hugs, Devlyn

No I wore a wig just long enough for my real hair to grow out and then never looked back.

This a thousand times.

yes, but I hate it.  Every time my hair has gotten close to a nice length in preparation for transition, some reason I had to cut it would always come up... be it a new job, or someone's wedding....  No more... I'm done fitting the mold.

My favorite thing in the world, strangely enough, is a nice updo... and they look horrible with a wig.

One nice thing I like about wigs is that I was able to buy several cheap ones off of ebay in different styles and colors until I found a style & color that really works for my face shape. In that process I also found out what hair styles and colors look horrible on me.

I want to buy another one before this one dies but unfortunately it seems to be out of production. The company that made it is still around but they now carry a line of cheaply made wigs that aren't of the same quality as the one I currently have. I think it's time for me to visit my local wig store and see what they can do.

I'm older and suffer from the beginnings of MPB so a wig is my only choice.

I wear really funky colored ones to costume parties?

Outside of that, I effing love my hair. I have no desire to cover it up and no reason for it not to be more or less the shape and length you see in the profile pic. Might change to color though. I'm pretty done on the whole 'ginger red' thing.

Alas, I do not have hair to love... so yes, I love my wigs!  If you saw the other profile pic I've run, you've seen me attempting to rock the "bald and beautiful" look... but at least for now, pre-HRT there is just too much of me that reads "guy" to overcome it without the wig.  I'm thinking it's the combination of being 6'4", having an adam's apple the size of a baby's fist, and shaven head that really pushes me out of the andro alley on the male side.  ;)

This spring I hope to get a trach shave (I need an ENT to operate to fix a bone spur deep in my sinuses that causes chronic nosebleeds, hoping for a two-fer).  I think my face is OK... maybe without the Adams apple and some HRT under my belt I'll be ready to rock the baldness again.

One day I hope to have the self confidence to express myself as the woman I am without hair.  But for now my girlfriend envies how quickly I can change my hairstyle and get ready.  And I get ma'amed a *LOT* with the wig on now, which helps my confidence, which helps my presentation... Really, I can't say enough about wigs (during the transition phase at least).

Hugs to Everybody!

I suffer from MPB so wigs are not a choice but a requirement for me. I'm literally a horrid "type 6" on the Norwood scale but a year of HRT has seen some regrowth and I'm sort of hopeful I can reach a type 5 level of regrowth on part of the top. I talked to a hair restoration surgeon once and he said there was little he could do given the severity of my loss at that time but that if I saw enough regrowth to cover part of the top, we might be able to do enough with transplants to make it work.

In the meanwhile, I love my wigs. :)

Thanks girl friends. I just purchased 2 nice long wigs from Vogue. They look great & feel great. I feel & look so much more normal with long hair. It feels like I should have had long hair all my life. Maybe mine can grow more I hope.
