<3, Shantel and Paige0000 : Thank you, your response give me hope.
Do you think i will be able to pass someday because i am 6'6 and and 230 pound of muscle?

6'4" here, about 200 (at least I'm slender)... no real problems as long as I'm in flats.  In heels I have to be *spot on* to pass up close, but that should become easier after some HRT.

The big change came for me when I realized that it didn't matter if I passed or not... sure it would be great, but the woman I'd been hiding all my life *had* to get out.

Alright,
I just saw how my comments derailed this topic. I originally posted my questions on a separate topic altogether, before my post was combined with this topic:for said derailment, I apologize.
Therefore, I will try to post my question again. Hopefully, this time, it wont cause the conversation to go too off-topic.

My name is Mortified_Penguin.
I was wondering if I could hope to pass as female.
I am 18 years old. I am 5 foot 9 inches tall, and weigh about 130 lbs. I wear a mens small or medium shirt, size 28 jeans (still somewhat loose), and between US Mens size 9 and 10 shoes.
here is a picture to give you all a better idea:

(pardon the redness, I've been trying to deal with it. I've also only been growing out my hair since this July (3 months) and have not yet been on any kind of HRT

Please reply,
thank you all very much

It didn't derail anything, you received answers.

Yes, you can pass as female- do not disregard your intentions.  See a gender therapist, it's crucial.
On the note of how you look, you have a very bulky brow ridge and a thick nose, both of which might change a tad on HRT and aside from those, you have a nice face shape.  With HRT you could pass almost certainly as female in regards to your face.

Coming out day is on Friday, and I'm thinking of starting to present in public.
Do you think it'll work?

I'm not expecting to pass right away, if only because I get very nervous trying to use my voice in public. I get addressed as "miss" a lot by strangers and over the phone, though.

Honestly I had to check which forum I was in for a moment because all I could see was a girl in that picture. I was worried for a second that I was in the FTM forum. You absolutely will pass with flying colors :)

-Emily- : I just saw you before/after you lose a lot a mass, you look very feminine now ! It take how much time to see a difference when you start HRT?
I live in France and i'm taller than 98% of the person so i think it will look strange for some person even if i pass as female. But i am happy to be tall beacause i have long leg  ;D.

Long legs are nice and are a valuable asset for sure (another long legged chick here :). Hey, on my Before pic, which was taken some 2 years before I started the HRT and I was somewhere on 85 kg then... I suppose. Before I started my HRT, I commenced very rigorous cardio-workouts and I lost about 10 kg in very short time. My clothing started to hang on me, literally, but I had very specific aim set for me and went for it very stubbornly (I had never done 4-5 jogging sessions per week, each about 1 hour long, my shirt was soaking afterwards...). When I started the hormones, I was 74 kg and I kept doing cardio-trainings and now my weight is somewhere within 69-70 kg, and it is more difficult to loose weight with estrogen. At the same time, judging from my strenght decrease, I assume that my muscles turn into fat slowly and as soon as I will be able to start Insanity programme, I will see more progress. As far as how fast I did see my changes, honestly, when I kept seeing myself on a daily basis I could not see much - only taking pics and comparing them can be of some sort of guidance. Even my uninformed colleagues keep to remain oblivious :). You can see a short version of my timeline pics here
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,143968.0.html
but as You will see there are not many changes within the first couple of months, apart of some smoothing down here and plumping out there, and then, at some point of time, things start to pile up and come together. Besides, in bad lighting and early in the morning I look hideous :).

Alright,
I just saw how my comments derailed this topic.

I think that you have realistically a good base from which to start.

But your post is full of doubts, this is good, but remember that transition is a life
changing decision. Only you can know your greatest excitement... Inform yourself,
ask help, try little, baby steps, for example long hair, maybe ears pierced (*), some
andro clothes and see what's happening inside you.

(*) they are not -- at least here in Italy -- done only by girls.

Thank you all! That's really encouraging to hear. And no, don't worry, not even vaguely cis.

My main problem with being able to pass is the fact that I have the classic "super-hero" jaw line and chin :/ Aside from that I've had friends of mine tell me that I'd make a beautiful woman because of my physique and pale skin combined with straight dark hai

Just saw this thread and I thought I'd ask for feedback :P Soo... here goes nothing -

Be warned, I'm kind of into the whole Lolita/LittleGirl thing, i doubt anyone here really minds but I just thought i'd give a heads up since these are the only pictures i have right now.

I'm not exactly sure why my face came out so darkened, but I put a close-up shot of my face :P

I honestly can't stop concentrating on my shoulders >_< Whenever i just cant stop looking at it, I think about Cameron Diaz or Angelina Jolie to remind myself that some girls do in fact have broad shoulders as well.. but I guess since my torso is still very male, I throws me off a bit. Also, I'd like to add that I'm not on hormones (yet)

Dont hold back lol

Gosh, that's a cute outfit.  ;D  You look very nice, and have a cute face.  I didn't notice your shoulders, but your upper arms seem large for your body.

But to me you look like a cute girl.

Yeah, I'm hoping that hormones can change that... from what i've read it reduces your muscle mass , and that largeness from my arms is just muscle >_<.. I use to be excellently small on my arms before i had to start working as a warehouse employee  >:( now I no longer do that and my muscle mass seems to stay as it is

Yeah, you have a thick body, definitely built like a male however most of it seems to be muscle.  Your shoulders aren't THAT big that and your large amount of muscles mass should lightly reduce their width as well.  All in all, hormones should make dramatic changes to you given about a year. :)
Don't fret, your masculinity is very reversible.

That lolita outfit makes it really hard to judge because it really hides your body and the hair hides your face. I'd say in that outfit, it would be very hard to pass because it really draws attention, even if it is only used on speciality events or cosplay cons or whatever.

I am not sure about this whole HRT against broad shoulders though, really.
What happened to me was that I lost muscle mass at the shoulders but I gained it all back in fat, so my arms and shoulders are now not thinner but just more fat than muscle. I guess if you manage to loose weight at the same time, it may have an effect though.
