I arrived in Thailand yesterday, Monday at 10:3O am local time, it is now Tuesday 8:00 am.

Dr Kunaporn's driver pickd me up and took me to the hotel they arranged for me, the room was huge and clean, all the Westerm amenites, except which I forgot to pack, the driver asked me if I wanted to go shopping after I got checked in and cleaned up. He picked me up int he sfternoon, firt he took me to the Buddhist Temple, he does this for all of Kunaporn's patients for good
Karma. Got some great pics which I will upload later. i am in the midst of a profound spiritual awakening and much of  this encompasses Buddhist teachings. A great sense of joy, serenity and peace overcame me as I stood for the first time inside a Buddhist Temple.

Aftrewards, he dropped me off at this awesome mall, I bought a couple things, a ring and a Mickey Mouse watch, really cool for 199 Bahts. That's like 5 US dollars. Prices here are incredibly low. I had a great lunch for 100 Bahts. The only thing that is high is coffee (in restaurants) A cup of coffee is anywhere from 65 to 100 Bahts. I did a lot of window shopping and will return after I am released from the hospital when I know more what my budget is.

I returned to the motel, I retired
at 6:00, I slept til 6:30 am...
I dreamt beautifully. I had these intensely seren dreams but I can't recall the specifics, there was a profound spiritual context to  the
dreams that is hard to verbalize or even conceive.

My driver is picking me up shortly for admission to the hospital, Dr Kunaporn will see me tonight and surgery is tomorrow.

This entire experience (since geting to Phuket) has been surreal, serene and almost unimaginable. Everyone smile at me, calls me either ma'am or madam, sometimes Miss. I love the madam the best.

So I will check in later, supposedly, i will have internet access from the hospital.

Just got the internet hooked up, two IT guys worked nearly 1/2 hour, the service here is incredible, waiting for Dr Kunaporn to come for pre-op evaluation, that should be fun!

They just gave me my laxative in a shot glass type container, that was weird. (I am a recovering alcoholic) it tasted about as bad as some of the cheap whiskey I have knocked down on occasion, Dr K should be coming  soon for my pre-op.

Thanks y'all, it's almost 4 am, I went to bed around 10pm, I think I will just stay up and get ready for my surgery at 9:00. Dr Sanguan and I decided on 600 cc, he is a real sweetheart, he seems very thorough, I got shaved and all, that was a lot of fun!

just out of ICU, the surgery was a breeze, hardly any pain, funny I did feel like I was being born, this surgery  was easier on me than FFS, but I am in much better condition for this one, still have to do stage II which is done under local

Lately you don't cease to amaze me.  Perhaps the pain is non-existent now because you were just released from the ICU, but they will hook you up to the happy liquid so keep pressing that button. ;)  Well, you hang in there baby girl and keep us posted on your progress. :)

The pain is not that bad, they have been giving me oral medication, I purposely delayed taking the second dose for hours and felt fine. My biggest concern is creating another addiction.

Today, I feel very groggy but not much pain, it was 14 hours since the last pain pill, I just took them a few minutes ago.

I don't know much about thailand or what surgeries they offer or the success rate......it is an option I'm looking at and any details would be useful?

The U.K is difficult and expensive in comparison and many people I've met who have had GRS in the U.K have had problems afterwards..

There are many good surgeons (but also some to avoid) in Thailand. The facilities I have been in with Suporn and Chettawut are second to none as they operate out of private hospitals, aftercare was fantastic with a nurse visit everyday, surgeons visit once a week and a weekend clinic. Costs are a fraction of UK but you have to factor in hotels and travel. I spent a month in thailand for both my FFS and SRS and 3 weeks for my facelift.

The people are wonderful and Thai hospitality and friendliness are a wonder to behold.

Yes, Thailand and its people are something I will always hold dear and I am sure going to miss being called 'Madam" but I still have more than two weeks here, can't wait to enjoy the five or six days I have in my hotel room. Funny, people don't have the material things we have in the West but they sure seem happier and not stressed out. I also found the same attitudes in South America where the people are even poorer.
