I plan on scheduling an appointment with an endo, however. I'm having big reservations on whether or not they will prescribe me to start HRT. I live in a small town in North Texas (Not too far from Dallas), and I'm worried that stereotypical bias will prevent me from getting my testosterone!

Now I know I'm going to see a "professional" but what if they shoot me down? Anything I can do to lessen those chances of getting turned away? v__v; It's making me depressed just thinking about it. How was it for anyone else living in a closed-minded place?

Well a lot of people in "red states" are able to get services from Planned Parenthood, if you still have these. Is this an endo with any kind of experience with trans patients? I was unable to tell that from the post. There are a LOT fo endos who really don't do this kind of thing at all, even in huge cities. If you are not far from Dallas you might end up having to go to Dallas. Dallas has a large trans population. Once you are on the T, it's not like you are going to be going back and forth that much, so I know people do this. If you need someone in Dallas, that's easier. I don't personally but I am sure people here do.

Ahh, I'm hoping I won't have to travel too far. Well, I'm calling the mental health care clinic on Monday to get some documentation saying I've been diagnosed with GID to give to said endo. >__> Hopefully s/he'll let me through with it. Thanks for your post Jay! ^^ You're always pretty helpful and informative to people on here.
