I don't own a car, so I'm out and about on foot a lot, and I've been used to being very careful and vigilant of my surroundings. That will never go away completely (nor should it, for anyone with common sense in an urban environment, or maybe any environment, these days), but I expect--and what I've heard from other people makes me think it will likely be true--is that as I become able to completely pass as male, I will move through the world with an increased sense of safety, in some ways (less likely to be victimized by males who prey on women, whether in subtle ways or more tangible and even violent ways), and less in others (some guys will mess with other guys in ways that they might not mess with women, and the world will have different expectations of me as a man, in terms of things like physical presence and strength, etc.).
It's interesting how that shifts, and shifts somewhat differently for MTF's as opposed to FTM's.
