As some of u know I've had trouble with my gender tharapist for the last 2 years. Well she hasn't given me hormones yet n my last appointment wit her was 2 months ago n I havnt talked to her since or even attempted to make another appointment. Ik it's crucial to get on hormones at a young age. I'm 19 now n I'd give anything to get on hormones, but I don't want to worry myself to death in the process. Ik this is a useless n stupid thread... I just wanted to update y'all on wats going on n tell y'all that even tho I'm not on hormones I'm happy... I have no problem passing in public, I can make cleavage even tho I don't have boobs yet, and my body shape looks feminine.  I will get hormones in the future tho just probably not anytime soon.

Don't give up baby! The WPATH SoC's state you do not have to see a therapist to get hormones, just informed consent. Keep trying. PS-You are so beautiful. Follow your dream and find another one if this one will not help you. Good luck baby, I'll be thinking of you.  :)

I'm with Jessica.
You need to find someone who will help you and not string you along as 2 years is way too long.

All I can say is that they are simply wonderful so far, so get active and make it happen, not tomorrow but today.
It took me 5 weeks from my first appointment to getting it, so it can happen if you are sure.
Mind you it took me 8 months to sum up the courage to make an appointment.

Hugs Jen
So long and thanks for all the fish

That seems an insane amount of time to wait. Any chance of a referral to an endocrinologist or someone that is less likely to gatekeep? Your therapist sounds horrid. Sorry, I really don't know much of your situation but really wish you the best in finding the care you need.

Waiting is okay, but not for 2 years.  It seems like she doesn't want you to go on hormones for some reason and nothing will change that.  If you want to start hrt, you will be best off getting a second opinion and try another therapist.

Here's a list of informed consent doctors with one in the New Orleans.  I don't know if DR. COMBS is still practicing there but it's worth a try.

I'm assuiming that you're still in New Orleans, or close by.  The list is from a tg rescources page for informed consent discussion and decision.  I know, he'll have to make sure you're for real, so be ready to tell him all about your past, the two years of therapy, and the year of presenting as yourself.
And ask him about a prescription that you can get at Walmart for $10 each (Spiro and E) for a three month supply.

Second
You've been posting photos on here for quite a while, and in every photo you're feminine.  I think you were even posting under a different User Name last summer and fall.  I never suspected you were anything less than a good looking young lady who was asking for help and validation.  Yeah, you are a bit campy at times, but it makes you the girl you're becoming, and deserve to be.

Take care and good luck.

Campy is kind of like Marilyn Monroe.  Fun, sexy, a bit exagerated, and kitchy in a sophisticated way.

I'm not comparing you to Jessica Rabbit but she's campy in it's extream.  Very sexy for a cartoon.

I went through my teens with everyone saying to my sister, you too look like twins.

Hmm now today, that is getting comically even closer. But this much is true, my cis female sister, has a nice body and she earned it from being very health conscious.

But you know, even though she can go to the right beach, lose the swim suit and get a salute from any male she walks past, she's still not able to find mr right. And hell, if her looks are not enough.........

Hormones, they might help you get a bit more in your shirt. But keep in mind, nothing in your shirt will make a difference if life just isn't interested in cutting you slack.

Keep trying, but, also , stop thinking it needs to be done soon.

Best looking woman I know currently, was born inside a male form. Do enough work from the neck up, and they won't even be looking at your shirt hehe.
Well being TG is no treat, but becoming separated has sure caused me more trouble that being TG ever will be. So if I post, consider it me trying to distract myself from being lonely, not my needing to discuss being TG. I don't want to be separated a lot more than not wanting to be male looking.

I think you have the capacity now (both mentally an legally seeing as your over 18) to "do what you have to do" in order to get hormones. Good luck, I would hate to be denied such an opportunity.

hey don't give up, if your Dr is not giving you information regarding why, well just find another DR opinion not everyone is so bad, and he is not the only Dr who can help you, if you already waited for 2 long years, your current DR needs to tel you why
