Oh Wow, what a day!
Hi Everyone. I am M to F transgender. No more ignoring who or what I am for the benefit of others. In the physical gender control world I have a male body, but this will change too.
Historically I am 56 years old and a single Dad who raised my daughter alone from when she was 5. My daughter and I are having a wonderful day sharing because I told her Daddy wants to be Female. My daughter now 26 years old looked at me and said. That's OK I think I understand".

I have been in Therapy for a number of years with Depression and Anxiety. This Friday morning I am going to share with my Therapist my hearts desire. I have to express and live as a feminine person because it makes me sick to be a male.
So much to write about and put together like chapters of my life. No way all can be said right here and now. Each step is a further reach to the genuine me.
My hands trembled and I teared up as I revealed my expressions to my daughter. I am so tired of the anxiety and the hives and just being unhappy.
Today, Megan began to step into the sunshine of this world and I dont think I want to look back much.

Welcome, and congrats on the big step with your daughter.
About an hour and a half ago, I finished a therapy session, telling mine that I was ready to do this. She's not quite sure what does, but has a colleague who does, who she'll confer with.
I was able to pour my emotions out and be myself in there, and after, I felt a lot better. Here's hope that you do too.

Greetings, Megan, and congratulations.  I recently came out to my daughter, too.  It's amazing how comfort the support of a dear one can bring, isn't it?

I'm glad you found this place... I'm glad we all did!  I've rarely if ever seen such a loving, supportive group of people gathered in one virtual place online.

I want to say I read your Blog and my heart goes out to you Sister. I have been where you are at right now.

Let me share what the outcome was for me and my daughter. I'm speaking 20 years ago...
When it was over I got sole custody of my 5 year old daughter.
My wife at the time seemed supportive of my cross dressing in the bedroom where we could be discrete. My wife than turned against me and actually began compiling receipts etc for my clothes. The wife attempted to paint me as a deviant transvestite.
I went to Desert Storm and did my duty to free Kuwait.
Arrived back home discovered wifey poo had been busy with drug abuse and having sex with others.
Discovered my daughter had been abused.
It was a real mess. I got a great Female lawyer and went to court sued for divorce and custody.
Like I wrote earlier; wifey poo did everything to drag me thru the mud in court and publicly. I was in military at the time and military was more strict back then about cross dressing. Investigations were a real challenge. The JAG and my Base Commander decided my cross dressing was a private issue and did not go beyond the sanctity of our bedroom. So the military gave me a pass.
Have to be aware back then that transvestism was classified as a mental disorder.
Civilian court and judge finally agreed after separate investigations that wifey poo was a predator and irresponsible on raising our daughter. I got full sole custody of daughter and a clean divorce.

I have never remarried. Just never really know who spouse can be or what a spouse can have as her own agenda.
Raised my daughter by myself, completed my military career and am now retired.
Now my daughter is an adult and I dont have to worry about so much; so I am fully transitioning to female. The cost for operation is what I am saving for.

I feel your pain, I know your pain. I can offer my experience and support with the hope you are able to find answers in a peaceful way.
Get an attorney.
You sue her. make her the defendant. Do not let her become the plaintiff.
Do not dress up in front of the kids.
You control any receipts. Do not have joint accounts.
Take deep breaths and if you have to purge or store Amy's clothes some where, just do it.
Time can heal all wounds.

A big warm welcome Megan. I am 47 and started HRT two months ago. I have many of the same problems and worries you do. What helps is that you have joined our family. This place is an amazing collection of love, caring and knowledge provided by those like us. It has been the biggest support system I have experienced yet. Feel free to (PM) me any time you need to. Thanks for sharing your story and for your support.

Your advice is appreciated, though my marriage isn't at the point your's was. We've talked through it (I need to add that to the blog ) and we're both going to try harder to make things work, we both still love each other. The gist of our current conversations is that I'm too "girly" for her and emotionally she's too "manly" for me. If things don't work out, we're going for a no fault divorce, joint custody of our kids and will be able to end it as friends. There's no real animosity there.

Aside from that, I've been on HRT for nearly six months, full time for almost three months, had my name legally changed to Amelia early last month and am legally female with both the SSA and the MVD.

Hi Megan123 and welcome to Susan's. You've picked a very good family to join. After reading your introduction, my heart goes out to you. I'm going through exactly the same thing, where I too need to start living as a woman more than living as a man, and fortunately I have a very supportive therapist. Really hope you enjoy looking around through the forums.

Again, after reading through this, my heart goes out to you, my dear sister. I understand the pain that you must be going through with your wife acting so vindictive against you like that and taking such actions with your daughter. But if you do all that Amy has advised, I think things will turn out better.
