The last three movies I watched where; Harry Potter (last night Wed), Die Hard 4 & Shrek 3

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix - Actually wasn't as good as I thought it might be, however it was still a Harry Potter film and I think that if you didn't watch this one you wont understand the next one. I will give this 7 out of 10

Die Hard 4 - Well well this was a surprise, when I heard that this was coming out I was like oh god this is going to be rubbish. However I read the reviews and my god was I surprised how good this film was, straight into the action not fussing around! Brilliant! 8 out of 10!

Shrek 3 - Well what can I say this was a let down for me I thought it was going to be bad just like every sequel they make after a massive hit movie is usually bad. This film might be alright for kids however it doesn't compare to the other two. It seems like its a rushed story line which actually ruins the whole film. I give this a  5 out of 10.

Ok this post wasn't meant to turn into a critics page however it has......  :-\

Grindhouse

28 weeks later

Die Hard 4

all okay and fine with me except tarantino's kind of poopy 'death proof' in grindhouse.

Oh. I think your picture makes you look like a young man. Very good.

The Middle Way

Inland Empire (David Lynch)
The Departed (Martin Scorcese)
A Scanner Darkly (Richard Linklater)

the latter's title derives from this passage in 1 Corinthians 13:

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

A truly paranoid vision of capitalism and addiction. Excellent film, employed the same sort of rotoscoping technique used to animate Waking Life.

The Scorsese picture, was good, worthy of awards I thought, but I thought the female character (yes there was one), the Police shrink, was LAME, and I can only identify but so well with Leonardo Di Caprio (who was so very attractive as the ethical hero, as he was as the reluctant one in Blood Diamond).

The Lynch thing was truly amazing, a very dark, obscure picture which resolved the thing bathed in this otherwordly blue light, which was absolutely transcendent. (note: Inland Empire was made direct-to-disk, as they say in the trade, all digital, no film was used.)

Jaston!  You look awesome dude!  The brunette thing is working for you.

My last three.

Today: Transformers -- crazy action!  CGI is a great thing, but it is so fast most of the time, that my eyes can't follow it. Maybe I'm just too old to appreciate that aspect of it?

Last month: Shrek the 3rd.  Major disappoinment. Maybe half as funny as the original.

May: Spiderman 3 Pretty darn good, but too much storyline packed into too little time.

I have been majorly disappointed in this summer's offerings so far.

I almost went to see Potter instead of Transformers, cause the previews looked darker than the previous films. I'll probably wait for the DVD now.

I am enjoying the movies I rent for home viewing much more. They have plots and characters.
Let's face it, I'm just %&*$#@^ old.

Thank you Thundra! :) That picture was actually taken a few months back and I have never put it onto my computer since yesterday and I thought I would use it.
