Calif. 'Christians' Spread Another Fake Story About Trans Bathroom Harassment

Advocate.com | Sunnivie Brydum

*  Supporters of a campaign to repeal California's new law supporting transgender students are once again publishing false claims that allege trans teenagers are harassing their female classmates in restrooms.

After the California-based Pacific Justice Institute publicized a now-debunked story about a transgender teenager in Colorado who it claimed was "inherently harassing" fellow female students simply by using the same restroom as her classmates, another Christian group has followed suit....

Dran Reese, founder of Salt and Light Ministry, a nonprofit project of Temecula, Calif.'s Calvary Chapel Upland that claims it "provides resources that promote good government according to Biblical principles without any party affiliation," told San Diego's ABC affiliate last week that a transgender student in Los Angeles was peeking over the tops of restroom stalls to look at female schoolmates....

And as was the case with the Colorado story, an official with LAUSD's office of communications confirmed to [Cristan] Williams that no harassment occurred. Williams published audio of her conversation with the official, who acknowledged that the school did receive a complaint, but "it turned out that it was fabricated by one of the parents who opposes transgender students in schools. So it was an unfortunate situation, to have put the students through, but it was fabricated."

[Zack] Ford reports that Salt and Light is one of the leading partners collecting signatures to repeal California's Assembly Bill 1266...

*Sighs and just shakes his head*

US Law

*Defamation of Character*
Any intentional false communication, either written or spoken, that harms a person's reputation; decreases the respect, regard, or confidence in which a person is held; or induces disparaging, hostile, or disagreeable opinions or feelings against a person.defamation (of character) n. the act of making untrue statements about another which damages his/her reputation. If the defamatory statement is printed or broadcast over the media it is libel and, if only oral, it is slander. Public figures, including officeholders and candidates have to show that the defamation was made with malicious intent and was not just fair comment. Damages for slander may be limited to actual (special) damages unless there is malice. Some statements such as an accusation of having committed a crime, having a feared disease, or being unable to perform one's occupation are called libel per se or slander and can more easily lead to large money awards in court and even punitive damage recovery by the person harmed. Most states provide for a demand for a printed retraction of defamation and only allow a lawsuit if there is no such admission of error*

Wonder when these people will finally be punished to the fullest *extent of the law*

There isnt one.It does say he created them man and woman BUT people fail to see that at the time of creation,it was only for reproduction because frankly-there was only two at the time -_- also the woman was made from within the man, that means he (birthed) her from his own body.So a woman came out of a man.So thats right but *birthing* your true self from your body is wrong? but i disgress, they will learn at some point.i hope the govt starts to sue and jail these people for their false slander of innocent trans teens.

Fact checking is such an easy thing to do.

Cristan Williams: I'm calling to verify some information that I saw on the channel 10 news.

LAUSD: I'm sorry, what information are you trying to verify?

Cristan: Sure, sure, on channel 10 news it says that, at least on their website, that a LA high school student complained because a transgender kid was in the restroom peeking over stalls. And so that's on the news and I just wanted to fact check that claim. Have you actually received complaints of transgender children climbing over stalls to look at other people as they're in the stalls?

LAUSD: I will have to check that for you. I believe that was fabricated, but give me one second. I need to verify. Hold on for a second.

Cristan: Okay.

LAUSD: Because it's been a few days since we got that report. So hold on for me.

Cristan: Sure.
[On Hold]

LAUSD: I apologize for the wait. They did get the complaint and it turned out that it was fabricated by one of the parents who opposes transgender students in schools. So it was an unfortunate situation, to have to put the students through, but it was fabricated."

Imagine that, "Christians" fabricating lies to promote an agenda.

Methinks that they need to go back and study their bibles because it's obvious that they are unclear about the meaning of the 9th commandment.

Nailed it, Eva.  Even by the Bible's standards they are the bad guys here.

I am not anti-Christian in the least bit.  I am, however, anti-hypocrite.

Having just finished a book by a Bible scholar who summarized some work done in the last few decades that shows that many of the books were not and could not have been written by the people whose authorship they claim, I would have to say that our California brand of apostles are well in a long standing tradition.

Name of book FORGED by Bart D. Ehrman (Univ. N. Carolina).
