It's happened twice in the past week. A non-subscriber posts in one of the open forums and it is moved by a mod to the sexuality thread.

That thread is subscribers only, right?

Does that mean the OP can't read replies we post?

This question has already been asked too and no answer from anyone.  Perhaps someone could just ask one of the OPs

The Sexuality forum, as part of the Just for Us section (which contains several other restricted access forums call "peer support groups"), is only accessible to donors or subscribers, and staff.

That change was made when Susan set up the new architecture.

I have suggested that there be a change to the Rule covering moving things to the Sexuality forum, as well as creating a new board outside of the subscriber section.

As an interim measure, I set my blog up so that it had better protection than the old Sexuality forum (members only, no public, no spiders, no bots, no crawlers, no newbies - 50 post minimum).  Anyone is welcome to start a topic in my blog.  As I am on temporary R&R break from moderating, I can not "encourage" the moderators bent on moving topics out of my blog, but I trust common sense will prevail.

I don't think any of the Staff are bent on moving things. Common sense says that explicit topics can't be left on an open forum that any age group can view. And just to restate it, if someone can't afford to subscribe, they can volunteer for a Staff position which will give them access. Problem solved, you're welcome. Hugs, Devlyn

But so much is borderline! I think that's half the trouble... even if people have read the rules there are many topics that may or might not get moved because they walk the line. (I'm just speaking from the experience of having posted one of those myself it didn't get moved at that time).

I saw one post this week that was nowhere near borderline, in fact, I reported it to be moved, and it was. The site isn't generally sexually oriented. Hugs, Devlyn

I agree, there must be a place that is off limits to the general public.  With that in mind, I made my blog a place that members in good standing and reputation could post frankly.  I originally designed that with the non-binary population in mind, but "any port in a storm."

I proposed changes in that rule a couple of months ago, because it is now outdated.  If you are a donor or subscriber, you no longer need 15 posts to access; if you have 15 or more posts, you still can't access it if you are not a donor or subscriber.

And, because the purpose of the site is "support," and because support might entail discussion or advise on issues of a sexual nature, by locking them away from most of the members, we do a disservice.
