I don't post very much but this is something I needed to say. If you haven't had "The Talk" with everyone that is important in your live I urge you to do so. A week ago today my oldest brother died from complications from an infection which caused his kidneys to fail. Anyway, he knew about me being trans and me transitioning but I had never actually sat with him to talk about it so I could answer any questions he may had. I do know he had said that no matter what he would love, respect and accept me. My wife keeps telling me that it may have been better that I hadn't talked with him so as not to have worried him. I just cant see it that way, maybe if he had not known anything about it...I don't know. It probably wasn't the greatest timing but a couple days after the funeral I  talked to my other two brothers face to face. I did explain my reason as to why I was talking with them at the time and I could not take a chance on something else happening. Please if you have friends and family in your live that you deeply care for I say talk to them before its too late and you regret it like I did.

I am sorry about your brother passing.  And I am glad you were able to come out directly to your other brothers.

I' m really sorry about your brother. And I believe what you say is very true and wise. My mother keeps telling me not to say anything to my grandmother, for example, so that I save her this worry, and to be in girl mode when I go visit her.
She also asks that I wait before hrt that all of them (family members) are not in my life anymore, so that they won't have to be bothered by this.
But you are right. We should talk, and be honest to the people we love beacause one day we might not have this opportunity anymore and regret it.

Sorry about your brother. Thanks for the reminder too. I have a brother who is an Ex-Pat. I only see him every few years at best and we have very sporadic e-mail contact. I'll have to try to e-mail him this weekend and tell him or try to set up a phone call with him. Thanks again!
