Who here believes? Who doesn't? Who lives in a haunted house? Or any of you had any haunting experiences?

I would love to tell you all about a mate of mines house. I never used to fully believe in ghosts, i didn't really know what to think. I was always fascinated behind the idea of it all though. Until i saw a recording of my mates house. He once sat in a few different rooms of his house late at night, turned off all the lights and grabbed a camera. He also made sure he had a few female friends with him, due to the fact the ghost that occupies his house appears to be especially aggressive towards any female visitors. After recording, one of his mates stripped down all the sound from the tape until there was nothing but white noise left... and played it back.

I had never heard anything like it in all my life. Voices through the white noise. While they were sat on the stairs of the house, a mans voice could be heard screaming for them to "get the **** out". In the bathroom, children could be heard playing and in the bedroom a woman was heard crying and screaming "I hate you"

It made my hair stand on end when i watched that.

So what are your experiences?

I think that extreme human experience, in the negative especially, leaves a deep imprint on what we call corporeal reality, like a shadow.

Or like an echo-plex of the sound that made, IE: the tape keeps looping. The more sensitive of us might perceive this stuff.

I belive that there is something out there. Im not religious so I dont believe in heaven and hell. However I believe that there must be a place where you go after you die. So ghosts could be a possiblilty. I have never had any experiances at all. However until I do Im very speciatal on the subject. However I do love a good supernatural horror!

About 15 years ago, I was driving back late from a business trip and had just gone through Lincoln.

It started to get foggy, just before I left the Lincolnshire Wolds and turned off the old Roman Road. I was on the A15 and turned onto the road that goes over Caistor Top. This area is a well known Roman stronghold from those many years ago and there have been many siting of Roman Legionnaires.

I turned a corner, and there in front of me was a man holding a horse by the reigns in his right hand. It appeared out of the fog in a second and all I could make out was the horse had a plume on its head and the man was holding a helmet under his left arm.

I tried to swerve but I hit, what I thought was the man and the horse and they just evaporated into thin air. I stopped the car, got the torch from the boot and went back to see if I could find anything.... I did, two Roman coins lying in the road.

Coincidence, a trick of the fog?... I know what I saw and still have those two coins.

I do believe in ghosts.

I think that ghosts are wonderful inventions that, once set loose, love to play on the mind.

That and they make for good tv shows and movies.

I thought I had seen "something" when I was a child, but I'm not sure anymore.  I think that everything in life has a logical explanation.

You brought back some old memories, I love trees now. Funny how things work out, isn't it?

Hi Wishy, as a young kid I went to play with a friend who lived a block away. They had a neighbor whose house was about fifteen feet away from theirs; both houses had kitchens that faced the back yard where a rickety old two story garage was. At the time this happened his mother and the neighbor lady were in their own kitchens doing house work when we decided to explore the old garage. There was nothing spooky about the setting really, it was the middle of the day and there hadn't been any murders on the block for at least a couple of weeks, it was kind of peaceful really, now that I think of it. So we being the boneheads that we were and in plain view of the two women working in their kitchens began to intrude on the neighbors property. We found ourselves inside somehow and began to explore the interior and once we got bored with the downstairs we climbed to the top of the stairs where it looked furnished like an apartment. There were chairs and a table and a bed and all sorts of things one would have to make the place a home. There was an old man sitting on the bed wearing only his underwear and he started yelling at us and then he moved toward us and we ran out of there, totally freaked out screaming at the top of our lungs. Both women saw us as we ran straight to his mother and told her what happened. The neighbor lady went up to the second story of the garage and found nothing. His mother said that the old man, a vagrant apparently, must have snuck out the back and got away but the neighbor lady said that she could see the front and back exits to the garage the whole time and anyway an old person just couldn't move that fast. The garage was torn down within the month. Was the old man a ghost or was he incredibly fleet of foot for a senior citizen, we never found out.

i don't believe in the supernatural.  i'm atheist.  ghosts exist in the minds of those who allow them to exist.

I don't know how ghostly this is, but when I was attempting to take my life the last time my grandmother talked to me. She had died at least 10 years prior. It was like when I use to talk with her and we talked. I didn't see her but she was there. I still feel her presence at certain times. I was not under the influence of anything most of the time.

Now, I have heard of stories of people who have seen and heard things in their homes. Not just mice either. These were first hand stories and I have no reason to doubt them.

Ghosts[...] Always an interesting topic to discuss.

I lived in an old, auristocratic house back in Kiev. The building had been owned by several Ukrainian artists and writers who even after death still occasionally dined with a rather large assembly. Forks and knives scraping over plates, glasses touching briefly[...] Here and there a laugh, a short melody on the piano, and quiet conversations through the numerous walls. They just continued where they had left off.

*sighs*... Gah, I miss that house.

That's nice, unless something comes along that believes in you.

Believe you me, the first time you see something move or even bump into you in the dark, or you watch your pet go berserk and run away from nothing, or you and your sister are in a room with something both of you hear but cannot see, you will change your bloody mind real quick.

There are things in this world that cannot be explained as normal phenomena. Our ancestors recognized this fact, even if some of what they experienced could be explained away today.
There still remains a certain smaller percentage of things that we either have to ignore or accept even though it cannot be explained. And out of that small percentage, there are some things that are pretty damn scary if you experience them firsthand.

My sister attracted this stuff, and if the two of us were together, it was magnified ten times.
We lived in a neighborhood of criminals, rapists, drug addicts, and prostitutes, so being out of doors after dark was dangerous. But we often did just that, because we felt safer outside with pedatory humans, than we did in our own home.

Needless to say, I was terrified a goodly portion of my childhood. It was as real to me as the abuse ~ perhaps just another form. When we went our seperate ways, it seemed to diminish for both of us. Something I am grateful for. I don't often talk about it, and I will stop here.

Yes... they where worth a fortune and funded my SRS, FFS and current Jet setting life style !

Ohhh hold on, they where worth about $20, they where Copper Coins (As) the lowest denomination of Roman currency from the Constantine era, had a chariot on one side and head of a dude on the other.

But I guess ghosts are tricky like that a priceless bracelet, Centurions sword would have been to much to ask for.

There's a story that goes, the night before Halloween on ST. John's Eve near the town of Kiev all the ghosts come out to stir up some trouble on Mount Triglav and that's how the holiday got started. Of course it's one of dozens of stories like that but this story inspired a musical piece called, "Night On Bald Mountain."

When I was young, my sister and I were playing at the top of the stairs that led down to the basement. Suddenly my sister had this really frightened look on her face and I turned to look down the steps and saw a union solider from the civil war era standing there. It was enough to make us run away screaming! My mom thought we were making it up but I was frightened of basements for years after that.
