Hi, This is all very new to me.  We are becoming more disillusioned by the day so would very much appreciate any help, advice, tips anyone can give us.  My partner (37) and I have been together for 7 years.  He has recently told me that he needs to have surgery.  He wants to go to Thailand as it's so much cheaper there...he has a pretty limited budget.  We have taken some photos and emailed several surgeons but the replies and costs are so varied and confusing.  We would really appreciate if someone could just give us a rough idea of the procedure and the expected cost of having FFS, breast and possibly hip implants.  Who are the best, but most reasonably priced surgeons?  As far as FFS is concerned...I would think maybe nose reduction, lip enhancement, jaw, neck and something for a few wrinkles under the eyes...but I'm obviously no expert in this!  Any help gratefully received! Well, we're so inexperienced in all this.  We've seen websites and emailed Doctors in Phuket, Bangkok, Spain and America.  But it's looking pretty grim because everything is so expensive.  I found this site and have read about some of the doctors we've emailed as being overpriced...so who is good and reasonably priced?

I see.  Could you be so kind as to provide information on what types of surgeries she is looking forward to having?  I am sure I could find a list of estimate costs.
Does she have all the requirements to have SRS?  and if so, what does she have?

The US FFS are overpriced these days.  Comparatively...you can get the same services in Thailand or Mexico for much cheaper.  I could go on, but I am going to avoid it. 

I suggest you may want to look into Dr.  Cárdenas Camarena in Mexico as an alternative.  His prices are comparative to Thailand, after researching him he has a very good international reputation as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon.  He has started to focus more on FFS in the last few years. 

Well for the initial time being we're looking at just FFS as in nose reduction, possible face/neck lift, lip enhancement, definitely breast implants and maybe hip implants (?).  We've contacted a few doctors and as I say, we're not exactly rich so it's trying to find a recommended, reasonably priced but good doctor.  We haven't looked at full SRS at the moment...that's something that may possibly come later.  We're taking one step at a time.  Any recommendations or advice? We have spoken to our GP who has made an appointment with a colleague of his who, we assume, is a therepist...the appointment's next week so we'll know more then...hoping to get help with hormones from him. 

I refinanced my house to afford GRS. 

I went to a surgeon in Pennsylvania because he is within commuting distance and if there is a problem....  Also going overseas scares me more than the surgery.  I only did some rough math but once you figure in the airline & apartment I'm not sure its that much cheaper.

It cost me $20K for GRS but when I did my taxes I found it was more like $23K. There were lab test, gas, apartment etc.

Now... how am I going to send my son to college?
