I got a serious case of acne going on. It's actually worse than during my first puberty. All on my face, so nice and visible to the world. As a 26 year old, this is very awkward. I thought the zits would pass me by after starting T, seeing that most guys reported getting them within a month, but after two months they came in with force.

Now my question is, to those who have had the same.... How long did they stay? Do I have to think in terms of months or years? I know you can buy cream and ointments, but this kind of acne comes from within. You can keep your skin sparkly clean, but the hormones are causing most pimples, so little can be done. All I can do is wait, and I was wondering how long it will take (more or less, of course).

I'd also like to know if the acne eases up at some point... I don't remember when it started but I have a constant acne onslaught going on and needless to say, it's really annoying.

Mine just starting to stop...at least I hope it won't come back with the next shot. I use different kind of stuffs but it only helps when it's already not that bad, when it decides to break out all over my face nothing really helps. I also had bad acne during my first puberty but yeah this is worse. I think it's different for everyone, but for me it took a year to clear up.

You think it's bad getting pimples after a month or two? try getting them after 3 days on T!
it started out with one pimple and then went on and on and now (only 2 days later) I have 6 on my face and at least that many on my chest, and I'd be happy if I were 26..I'm almost 41yo..imagine how awkward that is!

I heard the acne lasts long, but no one gave an actual time frame.

I have been on T for almost 19 months now and I have had pretty bad acne most of the way through, both regular acne and cyst acne.  I talked to my Dr about it and she put me on an antibiotic about a month ago and my face is totally cleared up.  This is not a long term solution as I understand it you can only stay on this antibiotic for 6 -8 months at most, so I am hoping by the end of that time frame I will be past it and it won't come back.  Maybe someone who has been on T longer will chime in here and let us all know if they are still dealing with it after long term use.

I haven't had much, but I've been on a low dose for about 3 weeks. My skin has some pimples, but I don't think it has increased since starting T. I've always had very dry skin, so I never got acne during my first puberty. Washing helps, but I rarely do it.

It might be worth taking some time and seeing if diet changes help. I didn't have much acne until the week after a Taekwon-do comp where I ate a little too much candy and sugary/fatty foods and I got some acne. Since that week I've been back to eating better. I don't drink sodas, I juice (as in make juice with my juicer using fruits and veg), don't eat processed foods and avoid too much sugary treats and it's been fine for me.  I believe for some dairy can be an issue too. I wash morning and night and use this oxy acne face wash or pads each time. This keeps my skin from getting too oily which does help, even for what appears to be more under the skin.  It's the result of blocked and infected pores, cleaning the skin helps clear out the pores which helps stop the acne.

If you eat a lot of fatty or especially sugary goods, try taking a break from them and keep up a good skin care regimen while you do and see if it makes a difference. Try the same with modifying dairy intake.  If you plan it out carefully, giving modifications perhaps 2 weeks before changing something else, you might notice something (or many things) make a difference.  From there you can then try and modify your diet to a point where you can still enjoy yourself but in moderation to what best suits your acne problem.

I've been on T for a good while now.  My acne was pretty horrible for a long time, tbh.  Although admittedly I don't have the best diet and maybe don't remember to wash my face every single day.  It's started clearing up a bit in the last couple of months, I guess.

Just wash your face, try to cut out junk food (and if you absolutely must have it, then definitely wash your face), and however tempting it may be to poke and scratch at the pus bubbles underneath your skin, don't.
