Hello,

I will be getting Kaiser Ins. from my employer in Downtown LA this December and need to find a PCP who is familiar and supportive with transgender needs.  And I was wondering if anyone knew of a truly good doctor in the Kaiser system.

Welcome to Susan's. I'm not from your area nor have Kaiser insurance, but I am glad you found us. Does your insurance cover trans care?

Thank you for your welcome, and it does look like Kaiser will cover hormones and SRS.

From what I understand, Kaiser in California will cover any services or procedure that would be covered for anyone that wasn't transgendered.  So basically, they took the "transgendered" exclusion out. 

That is wonderful! You should be able to get a list of doctors from your insurance. Then jump to Susan's wiki on doctors in your area and compare.

I knew that I was going to have to put a lot of work into finding the right PCP for me, but was hoping to cut a few corners.  Kaiser is such a big health plan with 100's of doctors in my area, and know that it's going to take some doing find one that I don't have to educate.
