Hello everyone.

So about me. I am a 24 year old Uni student studying computer games arts, male to female transsexual and I am seven months into self medicating hormones.

I've often come onto these forums to find specific information or just to trawl through the posts to settle my mind about one thing or another.

I finally decided to join these forums after having a few very difficult days with my self image, I'm not too sure what i'll get out of actually joining but recently I'm trying new things so here it goes :)

self-medicating is very dangerous. I'd try to get help (a professional referral for example) if i were you. I know from what i've read that this is going to take a while, but self-medicating is very dangerous.

Hi Kayla, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 8352 members. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Especially look at the Terms of Service.  We do not discuss DIY HRT.  Too many have lost their battle.

Hello and thank you for the welcome.

I appreciate the concern about self medicating, I am well aware of the risks and am actively seeking professional help. However it has taken two and a half years just to be recognized with the gender clinic and since then they have not responded to any of my queries about support or treatment.

Hi Kayla!

Welcome to the family. That's what you get out of this, another whole family. Fortunately, we totally accept you for who you are and are here for support. What you really get is more people in your corner. :D Feel free to look around, read, ask any and all questions (there's no such thing as asking too much), and enjoy us. We're fun. I swear. Take your time, there's no hurry. 8)

I'm also worried about you self-medicating. I want you to look on the outside as you are in the inside (I want that for everyone), but I also want you to have a very long and healthy (and happy) life.

with love,
-maggie

Be careful with me 'cause I'd like to stay that way

Hi Kayla, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston. Just to reinforce the point, our rules don't allow the discussion of self medicating at all. Grab a comfy chair and get settled in! Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Kayla! A big warm welcome for joining our family. I am so glad to have another baby sister. The others have already expressed their concern over your self medicating so I will not. As a retired paramedic I will say if you are going to continue please stay hydrated, find a good multi vitamin, consider a low dose aspirin once a day (to help combat potential DVTs) after speaking to your GP and eat healthy watching the bad fats. Make checkups with your GP every three months or so. These are only suggestions. Take care baby girl and I look forward to meeting you more in the posts. PM if you ever need anything. What you will get from us is support, knowledge and fun. BIG HUG!!  :)

Wow hello everyone.

Thanks for the very warm welcome.

I've never been called a baby so many times, I'm used to being the older one since I came to Uni a bit later than the rest of my classmates. however it did put a smile on my face!

I'm aware of the issue with discussing self medicating, I probably shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place but I have no intention of sharing how I'm doing it and the rest of it so don't worry, you will have no trouble from me.
