So last Wednesday I missed a class for a stupid reason. Later, I saw in my calendar that Wednesday, I had my appointment with the psychiatrist. I didn't want to miss the same class twice in a row, because my teammates for our big project wouldn't appreciate, and my teacher would've had to have a serious talk with me.

So I called and told the secretary I really couldn't on Wednesday, and that we'd have to move my appointment. She called me back later that day to tell me they were full until the holidays, and it would have to be on January 17th.

Thing is, that appointment was where I was going to have my SRS referral. I want to have the surgery in the beginning of the summer school holiday, in late May, or maybe even in the spring, since everyone else is going on their end-of-program in-company training in March, so that I can recuperate well before school starts again in August. Everything has always been planned this way.

But I emailed the surgery clinic to ask about the delays, and in total it's 4 to 6 months from the moment I have my referral to the moment the surgery is done. But January 17 + 6 months = late July, which is just a month before school. And that's really borderline for recovery.

So I asked if my referral could be prepared before my appointment with the psychiatrist, but nope, there's no way, we need to talk about it before. I asked to be called if there was a cancellation, but that's everything but a guarantee...

So yup, it's just another post to rant about how I feel dumb for moving my appointment right now. Not much of a purpose. I'm just frustrated. Not desperate, because a month of recovery is probably still enough to be able to go to school, but frustrated. Rawr.

Big hug! I wish I had a nickel for every time I did something that set the dominoes in motion like that. Time for Plan B! Other than that, are things OK?

Hugs, Devlyn

Is there a way to get together with your classmates and/or teacher to essentially do the work the day before, or something? Or at least some of the work?
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

Devlyn Marie: Thanks for the concern. I'm sort of fine. Getting better, a little, I think.

Beth Andrea: Oh uhm possibly, but the Wednesday in question was yesterday, so...
