Hey guys,

I've noticed several threads today with similar headings, do we have an official "hair passing help" thread? Should I remove this?

Right, onto my need for a haircut. I've not had one, except for my bangs, for three years. My hair is very long, though I keep it tied away, and it has really started to bother me lately, but I have no idea what to do with it. I mentioned it to my dad (who I am not out to) and his response was "Buzz Cut!". I'm skeptical, he has a tendency to take the piss, because he knows I can't really tell when he is joking. I'm pretty sure a buzz wouldn't suit me all that much, but I'm really rubbish with hairstyles.

This is my neutral expression. (A lot of people think I look pissed off for some reason.)

I think a buzz cut with a roundish face gets read as butch. You look mad to me too, but then I'm on the autism  spectrum so take that with whatever you'd take that with.

Jay: Thank you for your reply. As a side note, I am also on the autism spectrum.

If you are read as female by people I could see how they would think you are angry with your neutral expression.

But! When read as male - I don't think they would think that as much. Your face is actually very male, not angry. It is your cheek bones I think. Once your hair is cut short, at least from this picture, I think your face will pass really well. Your glasses are great for your face.

Now, for a haircut - something simple and short, but not buzzed. I am not good with clipper lengths, but maybe someone on here will stop by and tell you what clipper length you should ask for on the sides and the top. Then, you could just go somewhere, tell them the lengths, and have it be done.

Spacerace: Thank you, that is perhaps the nicest thing anyone has every said to me in regards to my face. Short and simple is probably right. I'll hope someone suggests clipper lengths at some point.

(The glasses I inherited from my great-great grandfather and had the prescription changed. They are the least breakable glasses I've ever had.)

I think that would look really good with your face shape.
And yet, even
in a crowded room,
I'm alone.

Or, what about a Daniel Craig haircut, like he had in the James Bond movie?

Thanks for your responses.

Blinded Wolf: Aah, While I like it, I think that might just make me look very young.
mowdan6: I don't think I have the hairline to pull that off, so that might make my head look like a ball?

I was thinking something semi-professional looking, but is the messy/spiky thing currently in style? *clueless*

Some people can pull off the disshelved but together look. Can't really myself, except if it is really short. I actually like mine better if I mess it up a teeny bit.

buzz it but leave it about an inch long.

Hey,
Thanks again for your responses.
I'm going to a salon at the end of next week, I'll let you know how that goes.

As you can see, I got my haircut. I'm not totally happy, as the woman left it a bit longer in the back than what I asked for, but over all I'm reasonably happy with it.
What's the verdict?

That looks way better, actually I was gonna say "just cut it like your avatar-pic" but then I noticed that was probably after the haircut, duh ;D
I'd even say just a little bit longer would work great for you.
Putting the "fun" in "dysfunctional"
