I am very much into observing women be they of any age shape or form. It does sound creepy , I am sorry When I am shopping for groceries , walking outside or wherever I  see people , I just take a really really short glimpse and try observe. I just want to look and learn something. Sometimes I feel I could begin to understand myself better Sometimes I even imagine how it would be for me to be them. Same thing happens when I watch tv. Sometimes I try to watch stuff where I could see women just doing things or just being themselves. It is an added bonus to see female friends and acquaintances. I haven't told them but I find that part of them fascinating. It does irritate me. I wish these thoughts would disappear from my mind. It feels bad when I feel I see something I can not have but could try to emulate. Sometimes it is just distracting, even if it is not the top of my mind. I need to get stuff done too. Then I sometimes get a dysphoric flash and begin to think about this again.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

Of course, I'm pretty sure every transwoman has said to herself on the subject of a female passerby, instead of the masculine "I want to be with you," we think "I want to be you, and everything you do."

But in all seriousness, I find myself doing this a lot. I find myself often studying how women move, walk, talk, act, etc, to help in my transition. I've been doing it since before I even started transitioning, tbh. I think it's fine and quite helpful, although it seems maybe you find yourself doing that a bit too much, perhaps? I don't think it'll hurt in the long run

Ever since i started realizing more and more that this is the right path for me, I've been doing a lot more watching of women to get a better feel for fashion and mannerisms.  I eavesdrop on conversations and watch them walk and interact with others.  I've always watched out of what I thought was desire, but recently I've been able to recognize the envy in my feelings as well.

I've been watching, and learning from women for years. I sit in the coffee shop and observe. Not only do I not think it's creepy, but I think it's an essential part of growing into the woman you wish to be. Young GG's usually have their mothers, or some other female to teach them this stuff. Most trans women are on their own.
Watch, learn, fantasize. Just remember, staring is impolite, so show some discretion.

Watching woman helped in my transition, I would watch how they dressed, interacted with each other, Appropriate behavior.. You learn a lot like that..

Simple things, like its not lady like to sit with open legs, here you watch how ladies sit. Something I picked up most woman do, before sitting, they straighten their dresses, if the dress is not tight. An important lesson when observing woman.. is how to dress your age.

I did not want to seen as a guy in the drag..

I think I dress like a woman of my age and act like a woman of my age. I am in my early 20's.

An excellent plan for everyone Noleen! This is something that those who are cash strapped should be doing in the meantime that is absolutely invaluable in transitioning the brain from guy to girl think.

I do the same. I find it to be helpful. Been working a lot on mannerisms. Plus I like seeing cool nail designs soo I'll look for that to. I call it the I.W.I.L.L game or the I wished I looked like.... game.

Not really. I have looked at women with jealousy and whatnot but never a concerted attempt to copy another woman. But there is nothing wrong wwith it. Maybe I have done it subconciously. My mom basically treated me like a girl growing up though so I'm pretty femme bevause of that. She even bought me a bouqet of flowers for graduation. Every other girl I saw had flowers but no boys. Says a lot. I was also voted most likely to be a housewife by my friends. But yeah if you are masculine you should do this as nothing will make heads turn like bad mannerisms. My BFs friend said it is how he spots trans women.

watching women as mik says is a delicious treat... it may be voyeurism to some extent but what better stimulus is there to learn all about femininity? every morning i think of all these ladies getting dressed and i find myself wandering through the imaginary mazes of their minds about what they will wear and how they choose it: 'do i want to look sexy, professional or just simply casual?' i am always looking to see how they are dressed, if they are wearing hose or not, if their bra strap is showing, what shoes they have on, how their beautiful long hair flows down lazily on their shoulders (often leading to a desire to comb that hair if i could lol...!), how their make-up and especially eyes are done (women's eyes can be so breathtaking...) in short fantasizing that i can look, or better yet, be like this one day... a truly wonderful daily inspiration!

Like someone said, most of transgender people can relate to that. But bear in mind that every learning experience starts from emulation.
I, too, was ashamed of it, but now looking back I see that there was no need to be. Because all girls do that growing up, copy something or someone they know; their relative, friends or even a celebrity. It's a way they find the adult person they should be, emulating things that they like in those people.
In my experience this (the copying) does go on for some time, but just as your knowledge, experience and personality grow the less you have the need to copy, instead you intrinsically know it, it becomes a part of you, and thus the less you have the feeling of guilt about it or the lack of confidence.

Just my proverbial two cents.
