Hello all:

I'm anxious to begin formal face clearing...finally!

Does anyone have recent experience with E3000 in Dallas?

I'm hoping to start on the fast track with them, but i'm curious about wait time to get an appointment and overall satisfaction with their services.

Any information would be lovely :)

Warmest regards,

Allie

I know a gal that got it a while back. It was worth it to her. I mean it greatly reduced the time she had to devote to the process. She ended up going there two times several months apart. That was enough to get rid of a lot of the hair. She then finished it off with a local pro where she lived.

Did she have any scarring? I know a gal that went there and has some subdermal scarring from too much heat applied to roots too close in proximity.

I never did e3000, but I know a few people who have gone there over the years and they have been extremely pleased and free of scars. They all used it as a quick way to get to a clearing where a regular electrologist closer to home could take over and finish off.

I've heard good reports from other sources, so perhaps the gal I know had bad skin prior to her clearing and just wanted to have someone to hang it on. I don't want to be the crepe hanger on this subject, so you're probably more knowledgable Zumbagirl!

I just got back Friday from my 5th appointment with them.  In fact, I'm still pretty swollen, but that's expected and I'm used to it at this point.  :\

I think they're great and that you're making a good decision to start your hair removal there.  Before deciding to go, I tried a few local electrologists and then laser, which wasn't really effective, perhaps due to my reddish hair.  This cost me a lot of time and money, but I guess I needed to exhaust my options before getting on a plane, getting a hotel, etc.

On top of being relatively comfortable (despite many extremely painful lidocaine injections) and having the efficiency of two electrologists working on you at the same time, they are really skilled and take what they do very seriously.  I'm really thankful that they exist.

Best of luck!  BTW, I'd book right away.  It usually takes a few months to get an appointment.

I am thinking that scarring is just one of the possibilities one can have happen. I would say it is a risk someone has to take. I own my own machine and when I started I burnt my face often using too much power. It has all healed. I mean hey I was willing to learn and take risks to get rid of the hair.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply to my question, sorry for this very delayed response.

I'm booked for a marathon three-day, two-technologist double-team session in mid January... I simply cannot wait!

This session comes on the heels of my consult with Dr. Ousterhout for FFS...yippee!

Thanks again, hugs to everyone.

Hi windsofchange,

For some reason, I can't reply to your PM because I don't have access.  :\

When I first started going, I had more hair, which meant more swelling, which meant more recovery time.  I'd go on a Wednesday and would basically be fine for work by Monday, as in the swelling wasn't noticeable anymore.  Usually, I'd have a bruise or two that would last a few weeks, however.  The last few times, I went on a Thursday and was ready for work by Monday.  If you're going for 3 days, I'd count 5 days from your last day as the first day people won't really notice.  Worse case scenario, just tell them you had an allergic reaction.

My recommendation is to ice constantly, drink lots of water, and have a sense of humor about how awful you look.  I would also lightly moisturize and use the zinc oxide they give you sparingly for the first two days.  Your face doesn't need anything more than that.  No aloe, no astringents, nothing.

I know nothing about E3000 but love the song, Winds of Change.

I have 3 good friends that have recently done the marathon sessions with 2 technicians and lidocaine anesthesia. All three had massive swelling (face swelled up like a balloon) but they were very happy with their experiences. The girls at E3K are expensive but very good and fast at what they do. I think the vast majority of their clients are MtF so don't worry about feeling awkward.

I booked in September and the earliest slot they had then was December. I start there in mid-December and was told to plan every 6-8 weeks to return. From initial photos I sent so they could see hair density, they were telling me to expect 7-9 sessions total. Given that I have a thick beard on the chin and upper lip, this didn't surprise me.

I am hoping that by the third visit I can start to see the difference.

I just got back from Dallas and E3000 on Wednesday (Jan 1, 2014).  Based on the amoung of hair I have to deal with, they estimated about 16 hours total over 2 days would be required.  It actually took a bit under 15 hours. I have already had laser hair removal done several years ago which eliminated 95% of the dark hair, but I was left with a healthy crop of light colored hair which is unaffected by lasers.

I can't speak to how successful the treatment was yet, but I'm expecting excellent results. Some of the lidocaine injections are exrutiatingly painful (such as the upper lip) but the pain dissipates quickly and then the electolysis is virtually pain-free.

For two reasons I highly recommend them based on my initial impression. Because they  deaden the face, they can use more power than is used in conventional electrolysis and this permanently elimates more hair.  Also, they use insultated probes, so all of the charge is applied to the hair root and none is lost frying the follicle walls, and increasing facial redness.

I will withhold judgment until I get 2 or 3 more treatments done and can better evaluation the results. Stay tuned.

electrolysis scarring is due to the operator rather than the technique.

I had it last yesterday and most of the parts of my face just got the usual red bump that disappeared after a few hours but on some parts at side of mouth where it looks like hairs will still be sprouting the day I die I have scabs that needed a lot of cover up today to go shopping.
Electrologist is regular one but was concentrating on getting the right needle angle at side of mouth and zapped some follicles two or three times and that just burned the skin and left nasty blister that then turns into a scab and that leaves a pit which takes a week to fill up and smooth over.
One of previous girls gave me really bad scabs as she seemed to just push needle below skin rather than all way to bottom of follicle.

When regular girl is off and salon owner does it she leaves the needle in and gives one good zap and waits a couple of second before pulling needle out and that gives a red bump for a few hours and a better kill rate I think.

I am sure that they need to be taught to get the needle right down and give one good burst and wait a couple of seconds.

As an update to this thread, my E3000 results are in a separate thread also in this forum. I am quite happy thus far.
