I wish I had the guts to sing in front of people. I don't think I'm anything near the best, but people have told me I should open up more. Every time I watch music shows on tv I cry because I want to be on that stage. I don't care if I get a yes or no, but I feel like I'm missing something good.

There, I shortened my name so as not to distort the overall look of topics lists and such when I post.

You're so considerate for such an attractive big head horsey-faced marsh monster!  :) So what's on the front burner for today?

I'm doing laundry and then I need to clear the water system in my neighbor's rv because its going to freeze tonight. And I'm going to make sure the bulb is on in my pump house and turn off the water supply to the shop. I also have to check another neighbor's bulb and turn off his outside faucet since it isn't freezeproof.

You've got a lot on your plate, seems like you would be a great neighbor for anybody to have! I look out for my neighbors like that too, there's a single Asian woman I do things for, then an old lady down the block in her 90's, and the inept guy across the street that doesn't know which way a lightbulb screws in. Someone's gotta help them or they'd just harm themselves doing something stupid.

I'm thinking that its cold out today. North wind and about 40 degrees. brrrrr...

Thinking you're in the banana belt so far, 32 degrees in this corner.

No-one will ever recognise me as my actual gender, is what I'm thinking.

Yeah, with the north wind, our windchill is about 28. Its cold, but I got the rv taken care of, moved to my other driveway and plugged in to keep the batteries up. Now, more laundry and some coffee.

I'm thinking that wind chill factor makes a lot of difference when it comes to freeze potential.

Just remember, someone will see you as you wish to be seen...it just takes time to find him/her.

*hugs*

Wind got measured to 40 metres/second here. No public transport is going and the lights are flashing. Hmm.

Good thing kittens have their mittens. I need to move to a warmer climate, both weather wise and acceptance wise.

You're more than welcome up here! Kind of cold but very purty. And I'm here. Yeah. We can be gaming together, yay!

Edge

One of my friends is a nice guy (so far) who is willing to answer my questions on Norse stuff and history without shaking his head condescendingly. Except when people have an interest in religions that their ancestors didn't follow. This makes me feel uncomfortable. (For the context, he's a caucasian Canadian and he was judging someone who is into Greek mythology.) I can't quite put my finger on exactly why this bothers me. I guess I figure it's not his place to judge other people for their likes and beliefs.
His reasons is he's really big into ancestor worship apparently. That's neat I guess. Personally, I think it would be really cool to be able to trace one's ancestor's back as far as possible. My dad didn't even know we're descended from Norwegians until he started looking into it because he didn't know much either. Unfortunately, my dad is not someone I feel like having a chat with. Actually, I've only heard stories of the past three generations (mine, my parents', and my grandparents). In other words, the only "ancestors" I really know anything about are people who want nothing to do with their parents. I wonder how far that pattern goes back. Maybe that's why I know next to nothing about my ancestors. I'm not too keen on the idea of honouring the ones I know about. I wonder if he judges me for my lack of ancestral knowledge.
Which is why I guess I'd make a lousy pagan. Thank goodness I decided to just do whatever.

Adam (birkin)

I made an apple crisp. It smells really good. It's cooling.

I'm also displeased with my brother, as per usual. Mom asked him to clean up after his bird, so he does a haphazard job, and ends up dragging the bird food and bird poop throughout the kitchen and bathroom and it's all over the floor. Guess who is sweeping it up? My mother. Guess who cleaned up when he made a smoothie this morning? My mother. I said to her "you shouldn't be the one doing that, mom" and she goes "well I asked him to clean his room so..." Yeah. Keeping his room clean should be the bare minimum expectation, and doesn't excuse him from making disgusting messes.

Oh well. I figure her resentment will build and hopefully he'll get the brunt of it.

Now I want apple crisp... Darn you, Caleb!
Your brother sounds frustrating.

Hey Edge, if there's something Norwegian you can't translate or have problems understanding, Norse mythology, vikings and all.. you can always give me a poke and I can look into it. I used to be pretty good at that before, doing annual trips to this massive viking museum haha. Them gods were up to more drama than the Kardashians.

Dear gods, kittenswithmittens, do you know what you're offering? Norwegian is on my list of languages to learn. Once I start, I may pester you with language related questions. As for mythology and history questions, I have a lot of those too, but they're kind of all over the place. May I?

What about a dog with a moustache?! Twice the fun!

And sure thing Edge, I know the language very well and I already have one friend asking me questions all the time so another one is no problem! :D
