If i were to get a nose job, would i want to do it before the FFS? or is the nose job included in FFS?

FFS isn't something that is "set" rather, you and your doctor will choose what procedures will feminize your face, and often times, rhinoplasty is one of them.

What all does or could FFS involve? (sorry if that is a silly question. very very new to all these terms and surgeries)

FFS as far as I am concerned is anything on "the list" of stuff to adjust on a persons face. There can be modifications to Lips, lip shortening, nose, cheek implants, eye skin lifts, brow bone modification, forehead smoothing, general face lift, hairline advancement, jawbone reduction, chin reduction, chin implants, neck skin tucking, tracheal shave, ear tweaks. There are proper names for every procedure, and they all fall into FFS as far as I am concerned. I have a friend who just had a laundry list done. A complication came up during surgery, she was unable to be intubated which caused a jawline reduction to be cancelled, but had a laundry list of other stuff done, ( approved by her sister who had power of attorney while she was incapacitated.)

Yeah i figured all that out just a few minutes ago haha! But i am thankful you replied. i don't know what all i would need. I like my lips and my chin, my forehead is fine (i think). What all do you think i would need done?

If there isn't anything that really stands out to you, then I would wait until the hormones have had time to work. Fat will redistribute and probably change the shape of your face a bit, so it may be hard to tell right now what surgeries would be appropriate.

I do know for sure that i would want my nose done. Just not sure if the hormones are going to change my hairline or if the hairline even needs changing.

Well, can't really tell what your hairline is like from the pic lol. But growing it out might help determine things like that even before HRT. The hormones might grow or re-grow head hair in places though.

I have asked a few people about that nose and FFS thing and it seems most agree that if you get anything done at the nose and want anything done at the forehead, they should be done at the same time - i am now considering rhinoplasty, but my decision will be if I wan to do that now and at the same time decide against forehead surgery (and thus probably FFS overall) in the future or if I dont do it and re-think doing FFS - not that it is impossible but doing a rhinoplasty and later do forehead work which requires an adjustment of the nose anyways would be operating twice at the same thing - the nose.

Okay here is it how it works with ffs
When you do your nose ..it wont align with the forehead
The most beutifill woman in the world have no step from the
Forehead to nose. Look at your self from angle in the mirror
Your forehead has a step down to your nose.

Now when if you do forehead or nose at differant times
That smooth transition will be hard to make after

Do both forehead and nose at the same time. Different surgeons will
Have differant ideas.

Plain and simple.  But more costly .

You have beautiful eyes which is nice, really nice.  You would benefit from scalp advancement, brow bossing, nose job, and yes, your chin.  These are feminizing procedures which will stand you in good stead as you age...you will age, but remain looking female.  I had FFS at 55, but modeled (my face at 18 as a female) so things do change.  FFS is brilliant because it goes deeper than hormones and concentrates on the bone work.

So i assume the more you have to have done, the more the price goes up?

Of course more procedures are more expensive.
I do hate that whole combination of forehead and nose restriction, but there it is and christine explained it. If you do FFS anyways, do the rhinoplasty with it, if you want rhinoplasty only, you can do that.
I probably will do the rhinoplasty only even though I guess I could benefit from FFS but I do pass well with my face usually so I am way too scared of the risks of FFS to do it just to look a bit better.

Kiwi - this is what scares me a bit actually - so you looked good as a female enough to model at age 18 and since then have gotten HT and all of that and then with 55 you needed FFS even though you transitioned early= How did that happen? A bad HT? I fear something like that - not doing FFS now because I am scared and then in 15 years finding I dont pass anymore because of something with aging and then do FFS then with more risks and having lost 15 years of looking better already at a younger age... How did you get to that point that you needed FFS?

No, but good question...I could never tolerate HRT, as I get chronic migraines and HRT aggravates these.  So I have been 40 years without HRT.  Your face does change with age.  My avatar shows me 2 months post FFS and I had 10 hours of surgery with Dr Suporn.  I was still very swollen.  Now I am 8 months post FFS and still changing slightly...

Yeah that makes sense. i would want to get ALL of it out of the way. or break it up into two years and get one major surgery a year mixed in with little things if need be. How do most people fund their surgeries? Do they just take out personal loans? I can't imagine some of these people have "saved" the costs for the WHOLE surgery. If so, props to them! haha

I'm probably taking out student loans, lower interest rates and sometimes they don't start accruing interest until you graduate.

Kiwi - wow, you got no HT at all? Thats interesting. Do you think it lead to a virilization (masculinization) of your face over the decades or did you just age like any woman would and were motivated to have some of your youthful looks back wit FFS? You should post an updated avatar then if you are still swollen in that one - did you do a lot? Did you have issues with anything before (self image, "passing")? I am surprised a bit at what you are doing after such a long time of being a post-op as I think most are doing these procedures a lot earlier. But Here I am, 13 years post up and considering surgeries as well, so I am interested how this might be for me in 15 years when I will be your age...
CuriousAboutLife - many people split FFS in two parts if it is alot they want to be done. It is expensive for sure and you most likely would have to save up some money and then find a way to get a loan if you dont want to wait. Transition is expensive if you do all these procedures and have a health insurance that does not cover trans-related issues (some do at least for some of the procedures like HT or SRS). But money is just money - there may be more prices to pay. Surgeries are not free of complications, for FFS they basicaly peel back your face and re attach it. Nerves have to heal back (if they do), things have to settle back into their places and the lot. In most cases this works well but in some cases you get complications and they can be a price to pay. I for example had major complications during SRS and had to deal with them for half a year. It was very unpleasant but I was lucky and few long term issues remained. So that was for me a price to pay that was higher than some $$$
