Lisabeth

The funniest thing happened to me today.  I went to the office and walked by a cubicle where several girls were huddled around a desk talking and laughing, and when I walked by they said, " maybe he needs a present".  I said sure, " I love presents".  They laughed and said, "it's women's cosmetics, I don't think you need lipstick and stuff".  I just said, "you never know!".  They laughed and thought I was kidding.  little did they know.  They asked if I needed some stocking stuffers for my wife.  I said, "sure".  One of the girls used to be a Mary Kay rep and had all kinds of extra lipsticks, lipliners, gloss, etc., and was giving it all away.
We stood around talking about the different colors and what looked good with what, and for a few moments, I just felt like one of the girls, and it was so nice.  I picked out several, and even though they thought I was picking out things for my wife, it still felt great.  They said laughing, "now if we see you coming out of the bathroom later with lipstick on, we may begin to wonder".  If they only new about Lisabeth.  Anyway it was just such a nice experience I thought I would share it.  I hope it is appropriate for this forum.

All my love,

Very appropriate Lisabeth. I'm sure you must have been busting a gut inside everytime they said something like "If you come out of the bathroom wearing lipstick.. I think I might have gone in and put some on and then come back and said. What do you think? Does this shade work for me? I'm sure they would have thought it a joke but it would have been fun just the same and not really giving anything away. Glad you had fun with it.

I shared experiences like that Lisabeth and boy is there a temptation to let slip. Still feels good though.

You know, if it was a small office with just those few girls, I definitely would have done that, but it is a large government office (serious folk) with about 40 people.  I'm pretty sure most of them would not have thought it was very appropriate.  Oh well, there will be other chances elsewhere I'm sure.

I work closely with several women and I've had several weak moments where I have almost blurted out, "I'm a crossdresser", but I've always been able to hold my tongue.  If I was transitioning I would, but at this point I don't think it would accomplish anything more than getting it off my chest, and I know they would tell others and before you know it, the whole office would know.  The few times I have told women, it hasn't been as positive as I imagined it would be before I told them.  That's the nice thing about Susan's.  I can get things off my chest here without the repercussions.  Speaking of getting things off my chest.. Here's one thing I have been busting at the gut to tell someone, so I'll tell you girls.  Today, I drove to a boutique in Massachusetts that specializes in tg apparel and bought two new pairs of black leather high heels (actually one with a 4 in. heel and one with a 2 in.), a fanny shaper and hip shaper with sewn in foam pads, two bras, and a pair of breastforms.  The shoes were the last piece of the puzzle for a complete outfit.  My wife has my old breastforms somewhere.  I just couldn't wait any longer.  I'm stylin' now.  All dressed up with no place to go!  Anyway, I'm on top of the world today.  Talk to you all soon.  Thanks for understanding and letting me ramble!

I agree that telling your coworkers that you are a crossdresser is probably not a good thing.  In s large office there is bound to be some bigot who could cause trouble if the word got around.  If your office is anything like mine (I work at a small university where about two thirds of the employees are women), if one person finds out then the whole place is soon going to know.

By the way, let me know how the hip shaper works out for you.  I have often considered some kind of padding for my hips to give me somewhat more feminine proportions.  I am a pefect 36--36--36.  >:(

I like it alot Louise, it seems to give me that extra shape I need around the hips.  The only thing I wasn't crazy about is I thought it would taper into my leg area better.  With tight pants I see a bit of a lump where it meets my leg.  Looser pants would be fine.  I may have to sew in a small tapered foam pad myself just below the original, and then I think it would be fine.  You can see it online at www.glamourboutique.com.  I hope it's okay to say where I got it.  If not, please let me know, and I won't let it happen again.  I'm thinking it may be helpful to others.  I know I have seen others mention department store names where they have bought clothes, so I am thinking it's okay.

Thanks also Shelley,  I think I am getting there with the look, although I know I have a lot to learn in the mannerisms area.  I did practice for quite a while walking back in forth in the new heels last night.  I think I am getting that down pretty well.  I feel sooo good when I am dressed.. So free, I can't explain it but I know you understand the feeling as the others do here as well.  You girls are like my extended family.  Thanks for being there.

All my love,

Quite okay Lisabeth, as long as you aren't shilling for your own profit. If you want to do that you just need to ask permission from Susan first. We're here to help each other. If the site is useful then by all means post it.

Thanks Cassie,

I think it is useful information.  The shop looks to be run by several tg's who are very understanding to our needs.  I will definitely go back there again when I get a chance.  It is 60 miles away for me, so about 1 hour drive, so not too bad.  For others out there, I believe they ship to P.O. Boxes where many stores do not.  I hope the information helps someone.  Talk to you soon!
