so after coming out early summer this iv started living as my female self probably 90 to 95 percent of the time but this last month or so iv been having a hard time with depression and at times being aggressive to people who offend me and i dont know how to deal with my doctor has put me on the anti depressant fluxotine which i have a review for next week but how do other people who are transsexual live with people down the street staring and laughing and making offensive comments because the way i feel at the moment im going to end up either dead, in prison or in a mental asylum (no joke) and the fact if it was the first one i would not care (im not suicidal i just would not if i died tomorro)

and before anyone says just ignore it (which is what my family and friends say) i cant iv ignored abuse for the whole of my childhood btw im now 20
my doctor knows that i am transsexual and my referral to charring cross gic and she is the one person that i can talk openly to

any advise please

Big hug! Understand that people are like that, but they only make themselves look bad. My advice is follow the advice in your own signature.

Are you taking the fluxotine instead of doing hormone replacement therapy, or in addition to it?

I only ask because antidepressants are like putting a band aid over the problem, compared to hrt which has been shown a much more effective treatment for gender dysphoria.

So my main question is: have you started HRT? If not, it might be something worth considering / trying out.

I took anti depressants  for depression. then stopped antidepressants and started HRT and felt much better.
