Major, major AAAAARGH. Really big.

I have been reading the fine print on the transexuality protection law that was passed and approved locally on June 2012, supposed to be in full effect three months later. There was a really interesting point about receiving an updated administrative related ID to alleviate the issues and sufferings of transition when HRT was started.

I hoped to get a temporary ID card, until I looked for info on what it was exactly. Looks like it is one simple ID that does not substituted my national / EU one. It only works in three provinces and it can only be used in some public services, such as public libraries..

Translation: Despite the "effort" put to improve the trans quality of life, I'm still forced to wait two years, starting in January 2014 before I can get a name and gender marker change. Not to mention that my ID already has a female presenting photo, something that seems to backfire on me now that I have resorted to work as male until I get the new identity. or cannot be misgendered this easily.

Hang in there baby! It will be here before you know it. The bureaucracy can't keep us down forever! Stay positive and true to yourself and you will be OK.  :)

As far as I can see, the only thing I can do right now is trying to get a name change to Noah, hoping it passes as a male name. I'll need to dress male for the request. If they catch me being transgender I'll be denied the request and force to wait two damn years. At least that way I wouldn't be forced to give explanations about why the name I'm using differs from the legal name.

I just need a copy of my birth certificate (online request), a census certificate, proof that people use that name in private communications, two witnesses....

And paying again for reissuing every ID card, driving license, credit cards, transport pass, etc... Ain't cheap and takes time. I just ordered the birth certificate and tomorrow will request the census one (hope the digital ID card works this time with the card reader)...
