So i'm getting confused I had been told by my endo that the effects of Lupron are permanent. He told me that after my 1st 3 month injection, which was in October, we would run blood work in January to see if I needed another injection or not and that either this injection and if not this one the 2nd injection would be permanent and it would be the same as an oriechtomey just without the surgical procedure. Something about how when estrogen is the dominant hormone in my body it will keep the effect going. I have found cases where Women were put into permanent menopause after Lupron but nothing about Men having the same permanent halt in testosterone production. I understand that Lupron is expensive but my insurance covers it and i pay $15 for a co-pay and i cannot afford an orchiectomy at this time.

My other info is that i am MTF obviously, 21 and taking elestrin daily and avodart every other day as well.

Lupron doesn't work forever, but when estrogen becomes dominant it effectively shuts down testosterone production.

thanks for the quick reply. so when you mean estrogen effectively suppresses testosterone does that mean it will stay at castrate levels as long as i continue to take estrogen?
and does that mean if something were to happen and i had to go off my meds, which i am TERRIFIED of happening to me either permanently or temporarily, my body would immediatly go back to normal hormone producing function as if i had never taken Lupron at all?!  ??? :'( ??? >:( :o :o ???
