I had been taking spiro for the past couple weeks and finasteride for the past month or so. My doctor told me the spiro acts as a diuretic, so I made a mental note to drink more water. Despite this, I'd been getting headaches for the past coupel of weeks -- light headaches, but headaches nonetheless. Last night and this morning I skipped my meds. My head feels better.

Maybe I ought'a opt for an orchiectomy someday, instead.

Or, maybe I'm simply gender fluid, and hormones shouldn't play a part in my gender adjustments.

Fluctuating hormone levels can cause all sorts of strange effects. Headaches aren't so well understood, and add to that hormone fluctuations and their effects are also not well understood. Your body is certainly undergoing changes relative to its previous balance. It is entirely possible your headaches are caused due to hormonal changes, and that in time your body will find its new balance and adapt to the drug. As for myself, I've experienced an increase in migraines after years on hormones, but I always did get them anyway. Time will tell.

Ms Grace

Spiro is also a blood pressure medication so it's possible it's effecting you that way.

I hate drugs!

I stopped taking spiro and finasteride a couple nights ago. Yesterday I felt better. Today I feel dizzy. I hate drugs. I don't want to go back on, but I also know my trans feelings aren't going to simply go away.

This would have been so much easier if I had been born a girl. I'm sure most people here can relate!

Definitely talk to your doctor and explain what happened.

There are alternate dosages and meds.

It took me a month to adjust to the meds I am on now.
