Hi ladies.  I took this from a blog written by a college girl (for genetic women) who pose very intriguing questions.  I find it hard to answer despite I'm a genetic female.  You all are so articulate I'm interested in hearing what you have to say:

1

  • . Do you like being a woman?  Why?  What do you like about it?  What do you like the least about it?

    2. What is a woman?  How is her worth defined?

    3.  How are you similar to or different from the stereotypical women?  How do you view the stereotypes?

    4. What makes a woman classy?  What makes a woman a lady?

    5. How do you nurture yourself?

    6. What makes a woman beautiful?  Accomplished?

    7. Is it ok to be a proud woman?  Why?  What does it mean?

    8. What does it mean if a woman is smart? Brave? Beautiful? Overweight?  Over 40? A career woman?  A stay at home mom?  Single?  Divorced?  Married with no children?

    9. Describe the type of woman you are and that you want to be

Ok, this sounds like fun!

1. Do you like being a woman?

Compared to what? Never been anything else so I have nothing to compare to.

* Why?

Same comment.

* What do you like about it?

It's me, so it's natural.

* What do you like the least about it?

Life would have been easier if I were a man!

2. What is a woman?

Adult female of the species - she can "be" anything she wants to be.

*  How is her worth defined?

Beyond definition - same as all individuals.

3.  How are you similar to or different from the stereotypical women?

I don't believe in "stereotypes"  - a stereotype is artificial - I am REAL - so are all the other women I know.

*  How do you view the stereotypes?

With suspicion

4. What makes a woman classy?  What makes a woman a lady?

The same things that make any human being classy - integrity, honour, compassion, etc.

5. How do you nurture yourself?

By taking the time to do things I like to do once in awhile. By respecting myself.

6. What makes a woman beautiful?

See question #4

*  Accomplished?

Doing the things that spring from the characteristics in question #4

7. Is it ok to be a proud woman?

If a woman is living by the characteristics in question 4, she should be proud!

* Why?

She is living to her potential and contributing in a meaningful way to everyone around her.

*  What does it mean?

What is "it"?

8. What does it mean if a woman is smart?

She has been gifted with understand. All have it to varying degrees.

* Brave?

Willing to give of herself to benefit others.

* Beautiful?

Gifted with the right genetics - no more important than eye colour.

* Overweight?

Irrelevant

*  Over 40?

Experienced (hopefully)

* A career woman?  A stay at home mom?

Choices on life's path - no difference in "value"

*  Single?  Divorced?  Married with no children?

Irrelevant

9. Describe the type of woman you are

See question #4 ;)

* and that you want to be

I am what I want to be, just getting better at it all the time.

That was FUN!

OK my turn. From someone who really really tried to be a lesbian:

Do you like being a woman?  Why?  What do you like about it?  What do you like the least about it?

I reallly wish I could've been happy with that role. It isn't me.

2. What is a woman?  How is her worth defined?

A woman is anyone she wants to be. Her worth is defined by herself.

3.  How are you similar to or different from the stereotypical women?  How do you view the stereotypes?

I won't even touch how I'm different from a stereotypical het woman. I think I'm different from the other women in that I just don't view myself as female. I don't think anything negative about butch, femme, het, any stereotype. I just don't fit them.

4. What makes a woman classy?  What makes a woman a lady?

A classy woman is one who accepts herself, be it in the middle of shovelling cow->-bleeped-<- out of a bar, or attending a symphony. She is someone who, even if she's in her gumboots and overalls and at the theatre, can carry it off. Same for being lady. If she has time and the inclination, she wears a drop dead gown, but if she doesn't, she shows up in gumboots and overalls and still looks hawt.

5. How do you nurture yourself?
Sleeping, gaming, and cuddling my cat.

6. What makes a woman beautiful?  Accomplished?
Beautiful: a woman who loves herself.
Accomplished: a woman who loves what she does, and has a neat twist on whatever it is.

7. Is it ok to be a proud woman?  Why?  What does it mean?
Of course. It means, love yourself first.

8. What does it mean if a woman is smart? Brave? Beautiful? Overweight?  Over 40? A career woman?  A stay at home mom?  Single?  Divorced?  Married with no children?
Smart: Thinking.
Brave: Willing to go against public opinion.
Overweight: Geez, I hate to say this, but I do have a line here. I think if she exercises and is active, no matter what weight she is, she's probably beautiful. But, sit on the couch and collect cellulite, then, sorry. Overweith.
Over 40? Better lookin' than ever.
Career? Better than any other choice.
Stay at home mom? I'd have to think about that.
Single? I friggin hope so.
Divorced? Same as single. No baggage please.
Married with no children? No. If you made a commitment to someone else, end it or I'm not the guy for you.

Oh.... Wow!

Jane and Dennis, I have judged many pageants and have had the opportunity to coach girls for interview in Miss America Pageant Preliminaries, Never have I enjoyed such on the spot, honest answers and so true. Most of the time this is not the type questions we ask but I really think they should be. The answers would reveal the more confident more suited women for the title they are competing for.
Thanks you for putting smiles where they should be,

1 Do you like being a woman?  Why?  What do you like about it?  What do you like the least about it?

Yes, after hiding for 30 years I can say without any doubt nor reservation that what is, is better than what was.

Why? Because this feels correct.

The dregs currently are the mismatched mental age and physical age. Other than that I really have no complaints. ... yet wink

2. What is a woman?  How is her worth defined?

A woman is a girl who has grown up. Her worth is defined by who she is... how she acts and responds. Her intentions and behaviors.

3.  How are you similar to or different from the stereotypical women?  How do you view the stereotypes?

I do not acknowledge stereotypes.

4. What makes a woman classy?  What makes a woman a lady?

To be honest, I really don't know what classy is, but to be a lady a woman must be proper and in control. (but not to say controlling). A force of presence as it were.

5. How do you nurture yourself?

By making sure I am not the last in line.
By making sure I am not continually walked on.
By making sure I do not give all of myself away.

6. What makes a woman beautiful?  Accomplished?

As the saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." So to is everything else. Consequently, beauty is to subjective to be of value.

Physical Beauty is comprised of many many different nuances.
Intellectual Beauty is the ability to think and reason.
Spiritual Beauty is the ability of kindness and compassion.

Accomplished? The same thing that makes a man accomplished or anything else, having achieved what was wanted.

7. Is it ok to be a proud woman?  Why?  What does it mean?

I certainly hope so :P

Proud is when you have the backbone and inclination to stand up for what you believe is right.

8. What does it mean if a woman is smart? Brave? Beautiful? Overweight?  Over 40? A career woman?  A stay at home mom?  Single?  Divorced?  Married with no children?

Nothing more than the value that is placed on a given attribute. Or in other words, by and large it means very little.
