So... basically I'm in my late twenties, born male, but starting transition MtF. I'm still living full-time as a 'guy', I'm pre- any sx, and I'm not on HRT (yet), though I've started seeing a therapist and I am five sessions into laser hair removal, which fortunately for me, is really handing it to my facial hair! 8) ... Unfortunately, though, DHT has already handed it to the hair on my head, starting even before I started high school. :( Thus, though shaving off the ruins of the shoulder length hair which I wore much of the last decade was extremely liberating, nothing reads 'MAN' like #2-length regrowth in a Type III androgenic baldness pattern...

I know there are various pharmaceutical options for attempting to re-grow hair (Rogaine, Propecia, saw palmetto, etc.), and of course, there are the surgical options too, such as hair transplantation. On the other side, though I have no love for my maleness (thus, my transition!) I'm a happily androgynous feminist with no desire to be a saint when it comes to obeying the laws of gender presentation ;) - if I magically woke tomorrow as a passable female with my pattern baldness gone, I'd still be buzzing it off anyway!

As such, I'm increasingly wondering whether I should just embrace the inevitable, and get my scalp hair lasered off - less drugs, less surgery, no need to worry about shaving constantly to hide the regrowth, and potentially, I think it could actually be cheaper too in the long run.

Has anyone 'been there, done that'? Or if you've experienced similar problems with what's growing (or not) 'on top', how did you deal with it when you went full-time?

Thanks for sharing! :)
