Ha ha ha...
Yes. It is supposed to be so hard. Back before my mother stopped dragging me about to find new women's jeans, I would go to 7 or 8 stores in a day and try on probably 50 pairs of jeans. We'd go to specialty jeans stores, thrift shops... You name it. My last two pairs of jeans, one pair I have worn through and the other I've worn twice. They were almost a hundred dollars a pair. The one I've worn through was a "painter" jean with wide legs and a handle for a hammer. The other one was a tapered fit that would supposedly make my short legs look longer. I never saw the floor get any farther away. *shrug*
I've got a 25 inch waist, I know that much, and a 30 something hip. I dunno exactly. I just know that any pair of jeans that fit at the waist did NOT fit at the hip and vice versa. And I've got very little fat padding, though I've got some muscle from being a competitive skier awhile back. I think my closest women's size was a 4 petite, but even that was awkward.
I hated shopping for women's clothes, for this reason. When I was about 17, I convinced my mum that boys' clothes (children's section) fit better, had less tax on them and were cheaper. She stopped buying me clothes at that point.
