I am an 11 month PO Bowers girl, and my recommendation is to get thee to an Ob/Gyn for an actual diagnosis as to what is, pardon the phrase, bugging you down there. I had a yeast infection at two weeks post that was related to the vaginal antibiotic we were given to use during our early healing dilations. The Ob/Gyn actually called Marci's office and let them know about the issue and the two of them agreed that I stop the antibiotic and use a systemic fungicide followed up with Gynelotrimin vaginal medication. The word was that the antibiotic had done so good a job that the yeast had no competition for the space there. I have had one or two minor recurrences of the yeast infection which my ex wife and daughters both just shrug their shoulders about, and tell me welcome to the club. My Ob/Gyn tells me I am in the range of normal and has given me an open prescription for the oral fungicide which I take as needed.
I used pads until just after I graduated to the once a day dilation regimen. I do self lubricate and actually did so more while I was doing multiple daily dilations, it is now more of an "on demand" thing than constant.
Another thing is that, as recommended, I do wear COTTON underpants and go through a couple of pairs of them per day. Every couple of days I will still do a sitzbath and carefully dry myself off down there. My Ob/Gyn actually told me to use a blow-dryer on my crotch area if I thought I might be getting the old male "crotch rot" at times. (It does feel good.)
Get the exact problem diagnosed, and have your observing Ob/Gyn or your normal MD tell you what to use. Marci's office will work with them happily. She even told me that last September when I saw her at the TG Conference I was at. I got my infections due to using the wrong goo.
