So my girlfriend and I are going to be enjoying our first holiday together in a few months, I'm super excited for it, but I do have some worries about binding and what not. There's a pool on the roof where we're staying and it's pretty private from what I know as it is, but I'd probably like to enjoy taking a dip every now and then, is it safe to have the binder on in water like that? I have two so I'm not worried about having something to use afterwards, just don't wanna go swimming and have it either shrink or something while I'm swimming does anyone know if it's ok to swim with a binder on? I'm using the underworks binder, the small one that only binds the top half. Thanks in advance :)

I believe there's ftm swimsuits that bind. I forget where they're sold, maybe someone else can link you.

If the binder gives you enough breathing room to do some exercise, I think you'd be fine. Otherwise you can wear a tight sportsbra under a men's swim top.

As far as I know, as long as you rinse the chlorine (I'm assuming it's a chlorine pool?) water out of it in a somewhat reasonable amount of time, it'll be fine. Salt water is a debate though- mine's been fine in salt water, but other guys have said theirs didn't do well with it.

I've gone swimming in even my tightest binder without a problem. Can't do it lately because I'm having problems with my back and lungs from binding for so long, but if it worked for me for months, you should be fine short-term. Just don't swim alone in case you get a cramp (not that you should swim alone anyway). Best of luck.

I've swam in a binder before and I don't recall it being damaged. As far as I know I passed - I passed to a girl and her mom (asked my friend "is he ok?" when I walked off) and then a young boy asked me why I didn't take my shirt off for swimming.

It'll certainly last through a few rounds of swimming.  I'd definitely bring a dry one for when you get out though.  The water (in my past experience) tends to weaken the binding effects until it all dries out.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I always use my older, slightly more stretched out binders to swim in.  They're already dodgy, so it never matters if the water has any effect on them or not.

I've gone swimming in mine. I have an underworks binder as well and it didn't really have an effect. Underworks also sells swimwear so you might wanna look into that for saltwater swimming.

I am concerned about being alone on Xmas day my daughter will be at her mothers for the day so I'll be home by myself I am worried about getting overly depressed, I will have to get dressed up to feel better.

I'm excited and wary with this Xmas....

Tomorrow is my first therapist appt....
YAY!!!!!!!

But I'm also wary, on the fact that this might be my last Xmas with my kids....

I'm going to savour every moment....

They're my life and existence....
And for years, they would momentarily erase my internal struggles. But the woman inside my head is screaming to be free....

I cry thinking about the very thought of not being with my beacons of love and light......

Thankfully it can't rain all the time.

But I fear the skies will darken before the blue skies prevail......

Thanks for the advice guys :) it's just swimming in a pool I think but I will be sure to have a look at swimsuits with underworks, didn't know they do them. Lucky they sent me two so I'll have one binder dry for spare anyways ^^

I have the Underworks swimsuit.  Works great, but it's really hard to take off when wet.  I mean, it's worth it, but sometimes I elect not to swim because I don't want to wrestle with the damn suit.
