The Obama administration is set to re-examine the ban that prohibits Medicare from covering gender reassignment surgery, according to a memorandum obtained Tuesday by the Washington Blade.

If Medicare changes its policy I might have to rethink about getting SRS.

Yeah, it would great for other people. It won't make any difference in my own life but that doesn't matter.

It is good they are "revisiting this". At least its not an election year so maybe it could pass quietly?

This is really good news to hear since many insurance companies cover services based on what Medicare covers. So even if you do not have Medicaid or Medicare it can still benefit you.

Many insurance companies already cover it...so this will only make it more accepted!

I hope it is medicare and medicaid. It may change my idea of what insurance to sign up for and definitely affect what state I live in.
