Hi all!
thought I'd explain my absence to ya.
My life has changed quite drastically the last few weeks/months.
My financial situation is now quite bad. My account is empty and I need to work a lot of extra hours to fix this, irregular hours. I have no fixed FT employment, so I'm also applying for jobs. There are several places that want to hire me, including a position in the univeristy's phd programme... but they all have budget issues so I won't know anything for sure until march...

Besides this, I've decided to break through the "mutual denial" tense silence thing me and my family have had going on for years... It feels better to break the silence, but this has also led to some very emotional and unpleasant confrontations. It sux, but at least I can be completely honest and open now, no more acting. They'll have to deal with it. Not that I don't love them, but I've tried the gentle, not-in-their-face, gradually-educating-them - approach and it got us nowhere at all. Maybe this will work, maybe it will only widen the chasm. I am afraid of that, because I love them, but I also have to live my life as I believe, and settling for anything less is disrespectful of myself and my family, too, I feel.

So... a bit of a rocky road I'm on...

and that's why the time I've spent online has been spent mostly in lighter chats on music forums and the like. When I'm home I'm tired.
For this reason, Steph will also remove me from wiki staff until I get my act together. I can't make the kind of contribution I want to make this way.

The rest of my free time, I spend with real life friends... and I'm happy to say I have found a good number of new cool friends, at a genderqueer café in Amsterdam.

I have been missing you all, though, so I will try to be around a little more, in chat as well. I'm trying to catch up with the news of all thats been happening in your lives...

Also, since I'm a guy (today) and therefore lazy, I'll use this opportunity to say hi to all the newbies I haven't greeted in person.
