Susan

I have been repeatedly targeted by someone, most likely a former staff member from England who after being fired from the site bears a grudge against myself and this web site. They think it's a fun game to post all over my local community about my gender status. The most recent was on Topix in a thread someone started looking for trannies (not my word)

Quote"Try ____ Larson (aka Susan Larson): www.susans.org

S/he's the local ->-bleeped-<- head honcho and single last I heard..."

Poster: "Gagginferit, Frome UK"

The question I have is what is your goal here? Do you think I am going to cower out of fear that someone is trying to out me? Not on your life. I am not a coward and never have been. It is true that I am not out in the local community, but it's not out of fear; it's because it is simply a private matter and one I didn't feel needed to be shoved in their faces, and they will respect that. My friends, family, and coworkers all have known for years.

Do you think I am embarrassed about Susan's Place? It's nothing to be ashamed about. I have saved hundreds of lives over the last 17 years and that alone makes any price worth it.

If someone sees your little character attack posts I have one response for them. It has never been a secret. I am what I am, no more no less. I would ask them if them knowing makes one bit of a difference as I am the same person today now that they know; as I was the day before when they didn't.  If someone wants to try to belittle me because I am transgender; it wouldn't work. I have to value their opinion, before their opinion of me matters to begin with.

It is my suspicion that the person behind these attacks is trying to force me to withdraw my support for this web site, and that is never going to happen.

All the person posting these attacks is doing is showing how utterly despicable they are as a person; and they will reap a full reward as sooner or later, as all this bad karma will eventually turn around and will bite them in the ass.

That's all I have to say on this matter.

Have a wonderful day.

I so admire your confidence & unwavering resolve.  The world would be so much better if we all had the unconceited self-worth that you do.   'Course it'd be better without malicious ne'er-do-wells, too, but....

Hang in there, girl, & thanks for being you.  Hugs,
~Valerie

I'm really sorry to read this Susan.  What the hell is wrong with some people?  No one has the right to out anyone else.  And that's really disheartening to hear this attack is coming from former staff.  Disgusting no matter what the personal gripes behind it may be.

I've said it elsewhere, but this place is worth more than all of the therapists I have seen and has kept me from going over the edge. F**k the haters.  Thank you for being you, Susan.

I'am so sorry to hear Susan, some people just can't drop a grudge over something little and move on.

You bet it will bite them...were it matters! :D

Thank you so much for this community. Goes without saying, but it's been such a biiiiig help! :)

Goes along with something I was taught early in my transition, many years ago, Susan: What other people think or say about me is none of my business.

Having worked for you here for 6+ years, I know how strong you are.

Susan,

Bullying is alive all around the world. It is sad that we are always perceived as easy targets.

The others here and I stand with you showing we are stronger then words.

I admire your strength Susan, and thank you for starting this site - it has definitely helped me.

As far as your agitator? What a bitter, angry, petty, small person that is, and all of that will eat them alive sooner or later.

Some people are so small minded.  We are all behind you, Susan.

I am behind you 100%+ Susan! I guess this person forgot just how strong we all are. The universe has a funny way of dealing with people like this. Stay strong!  ;)

You watered the flames from my personal hell so that life seemed worth living again. I'm grateful for your strength and perseverance when it comes to setting up and keeping this site going. Thanks for not letting them get to you too badly.

Thank you, Susan, for all you've done for us. IMO, this disturbed individual is attacking you so viciously because they know they can't really do anything substantial to harm you and this site.

Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Susan, you provide a service that I truly can't get elsewhere. IRL trans people are hard to find and this site (and chat room) has started to open that community up to me. Other web sites and forums are not as well policed and are not as tight knit a community.

Thank you for everything!!

Thank you, Susan, for being You and maintaining this site. You can certainly count mine as one of the lives it has saved.

Hi Susan. It is sad that the most vicious attacks on trans* activists and leaders come from within the movement. I consider you an activist, a leader, and a friend. I am so glad you maintain this forum as a place free from gender identity-shaming, presentation shaming, and body shaming. Diversity is our strength. Thank you for being you. And for standing proud in the face of bullying. People who out trans* women only out their own transmisogyny.
