Is there any negativity in referring to a pre-opt  transgender as he/she or is that just another term of equal value.

He/she, it, ->-bleeped-<- or s/him are 4 things I never want to hear from anyone.  Before I had my T tanked, I'd probably be tempted to rearrange the offender's face.

 I think its safe to say that most of us would not be pleased at all with anyone who thought that was an appropriate way to refer to us. 

And is there some sort of agenda you have with asking questions that are sure to spark some anger, hurt feelings, etc?

I agree with this, however I would still react pretty harshly if someone dared call me any of these.

Yeah, your provocative titles and questions are getting old. And he/she is insulting, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you want to learn, maybe you should spend more time listening. Hugs, Devlyn

Why would anyone think calling a transsexual a he/she is even remotely acceptable?  That's like a huge slap in the face.  I'm fine with people asking provocative questions and gathering the viewpoint of the general community, but this question cannot be serious.  Would you really like to be called a he/she?  Most of us wouldn't.  Nor would we like to be called "it" or anything else that dehumanizes us or invalidates who we are as people.  If that doesn't bother you, all the power to you; however, you must realize that this wouldn't go over well on a transgender support site.   Nonetheless, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt in this situation and hoping you didn't mean to intentionally offend.

If someone called me a "he/she" they would end up with a black eye (or worse).

In Thailand trans-women (trans as the umbrella term) are quite often called "Ladyboys" (Kathoey) and in Singapore (well, back in the early 1970s when I was there) the local transgender women that frequented Bugis Street (pronounced Boogy at the time the hub of tourist attraction)  were called "He/shes"...I guess it would depend on the culture and times one is living in...

The term "kathoey" is not an equivalent of the modern Western transsexual woman. Evecrook. If you had actually read the numerous answers to your own question "so are you a woman without the operation?" you would understand how obviously offensive this follow up question is.

I know at times some members can for whatever reason be a little on edge and it doesn't take much to trigger a reaction...It's important not to take things personally and become the victim...

However I don't personally think it's the OP's intention to cause offence, she's just on a roll with her threads postings...

It's really important for members who find her threads/titles somewhat offensive, to take matters into their own hands and take the initiative  and avoid/refrain from reading and commenting on them...We all have this choice...

Offensive comes to those who seek it out...

Remember the OP is no doubt also struggling to come to terms with things too...

For more interesting reading check out the hrt timeline ,from supposedly starting the first week in November to today being on full dose whatever that is, for two months.
