Gee, I got a tie from an ancient and distant female relative. Gee thanks auntie, I can't wait to wear it!  >:-)

They make excellent impromptu restraints...  >:-)

Starting to feel that holiday lonliness and isolation come down on me as Christmas arrives.  I guess I will do a GTA V: Online gaming marathon to try and ease that pain some.  Maybe some more hackers can give me some more money.  -sigh-

A very merry night of debilitating dysphoria... from getting dressed for church to the pre-church dinner to church and the ride home.

Yay

First holiday season without any family at all. Cold, dark and lonely tonight. :'(

I've spent a few of my Christmases here with this family. An awesome group.

I just mean I'm planning to come out to my family next year so, depending on the response I might be missing Christmas next year.

This is exactly what I'm faced with....

Sorry, I guess that could've sounded a little dark.  I just mean I'm planning to come out to my family next year so, depending on the response I might be missing Christmas next year.

Don't scare us like that, Casey!!

I'm in a similar boat. My family knows and is tolerant. Next year I expect to be FT or FT except for work. That changes the dynamic significantly.

Mom got me a shirt that is way too big and expects me to wear it.
I feel so fat wearing it :(

Mmm, doesn't quite work; it's a longsleeve tshirt.
I'll probably end up wearing it under a sweatshirt.

Is this the place to complain?

Watched my 3 year old niece open her first little make up kit. Watched her face light up and promptly slather on as many items as possible. I don't know why this upset me so much. She was so happy and everyone was encouraging her, but I felt bad about how early these gender things manifest themselves. I never felt like this before . I guess it doesn't matter since I have endured an onslaught of trans phobic comments and nasty looks, even though I'm not out to my family. I can tell they suspect stuff but maybe can't identify it. They think it's fun to make beard growing jokes.

Today went very well, but I feel like tomorrow will not be as good familywise. It's the less supportive side.

There's also a couple of people who didn't know about it last year, and I don't know if anyone has gotten them up to speed. I don't have their contact info or I'd have done it myself...

1) I look very different from when they saw me a year ago - I pass almost all the time now, NEVER passed then.
2) I also have no problem casually dropping "By the way, my name is Caleb now." But others might not view it as so casual and get pretty upset.

I mean, my name has been Caleb for almost 5 years now. I honestly can't even think of the old name anymore, it just doesn't enter my consciousness.

That just brings up a thought; my youngest cousin, only 4 months old, will be the only one in my family who will have only known me as Willow.
Just an interesting thought.
