Music is probably one of the most cited items as a saving grace through troubling times..

True. Music cures all.

I pretty much vanished into my music in high school.

What's in November?

I'm working on organizing another noise show. No one will probably show up again but I don't care. It would be fun to do it two years in a row.

You should host a festival-style outdoor weekend. Rent a clearing in the forest, invite people to camp out, and make noise.

Nah. I already looked into doing that at a place way out on the west side of town and they wanted WAY too much money to rent the place so...nah. We are going to play in a bingo hall again. But this time I plan on beating a keyboard to death (on the Grand Piano setting. I can't play the thing to save my life. I bought one way back in 2002 just for Noise stuff) and growling/screeching my lungs out. I will make sure I have about 7000 bottles of water around so I can get through it.  :D

All-natural vocal noise? I'd save my larynx and whisper into an amplifier/SP set up.

The vocals will sound similar to this. Classic!

Actually, after I got my tonsils out, I was able to get my Death Metal vocals back. For a few years, my vocals were completely shot due to my tonsils being severely infected.

When I do vocals of any type, no matter if it is singing or growling/screeching, I just go for it. No point in doing it half way.

I think every time my father calls or have to be near him, my blood pressure goes up.  I know he means well, but still.....he makes me nervous.  Sometimes I contemplate wanting the type of relationship with him, where I want nothing to do with him, but I want him to have a good life.

Maybe I should re-come out to him as trans and tell him about my plans of transitioning, espcially a mastectomy within the next couple of years, lol.

LOL YES and then he will tell me about how if I {censored} up my life then that's on me.

I actually tried calling him before posting this, but he didn't pick up.  Now I'm kind of chickening out considering that my response would probably get back to my mom and that wouldn't be so good. >.>  Oh great and he's going to call me back....

I'm thinking about relationships. Specifically, the romantic kind. I've found a girl who seems to be... well, perfect for me. The problem is that I am sure something will go wrong. My being trans* has put me in the position to expect people to find me hard to be with, if not impossible. I'm terrified and so excited by the prospect. Advice? Please?
I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know, everything that shines ain't always gold.

This is an issue that worries me a lot too. I guess, at the end of the day, you have two options which is take the chance and tell her, or not take the chance and not be with her. Because unless you're 100% post-op and stealth it will have to come up at some point if you get seriously connected.

Have you ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? Also how would you handle the problem if you replaced "my being trans" with something else?

I'm thinking that I'm taking a break from Susan's, I'd like to enjoy having a civil discussion like adults. Alas, it's not always possible because of various diversity of opinions and maturity levels.  :icon_ballbounce:

Aw. :( Well at least you have my email, Shan. I get where you're coming from, I think sometimes we all need a break.

It seems like several people are taking a hiatus for whatever reason.  I'll miss you, Shan!
